my first smartphone was SE-T68i then K750 then I switched to C510. Those years when Sony Ericsson phones were superior in Picture quality and hardware bcoz of their Cybershot Lines. And my first Android phone was the SE Xperia MiniPro. If only they haven't stopped their Alpha Brands merger withb their smartphone division. Sony could have gone a long way!

Problem with Sony is price. If we get phone with same specifications for less price we go for that. Please keep price in control. SONY IS MY FIRST CHOICE

I didn't try out the phone yet. I have... moreHe meant to say 4K resolution makes 9-10 MP on any display. So pictures of 12 MP (Absolute) shouldn't be a problem on 10MP display unlike other smartphones with 4-5MP displays (FHD, QHD).
Having said that, yes your Note 8 is also 12 MP but not the same the sensor. When will people stop thinking MP solely gives the clarity or details. There are lot of other things which are very important when you talk about details and clarity. Xperia 1 II 12MP is better than any 12MP smartphone in the market right now. Because it has bigger pixel size and advanced Sony's processor too. You can't just compare from one company picture with other based on MP. Do some research before complaining.

If the Compact variant has a screen size of less than 6", I would definitely consider putting it on my wish list. But for now, I want to wait for the Xperia 5 ii.
