I still don't understand what the hell is the usefulness of 5G over 4.5G(LTE) for a medium range smartphone and the average user other than jacking up the price and killing the battery.
Just imagine 2020 medium range smartphone with last year 855 (non plus) and with the 50$ saved invested in decent main camera setup and battery.
Instead of trying to break into the hardware market, why not focus on the timely updates for ALL Android devices like what Microsoft has done to Windows 10? Buying an expensive smartphone with 2 years only updates is getting costly and tiresome. The current Android model is very broken to be honest.
Viv, 03 Aug 2020They aren't, and this person won't have a response. They just wanted to say something.how is taking these away and offering less in features and hardware but charging more than others not being Apple??
Ze, 03 Aug 2020You can never compare a Chinese phone brand with a nexus. Pleaseeeeyou're right. More often the Chinese one would be better minutes direct Google support... which has its benefits but weaknesses as well.
Halfthekgb, 03 Aug 2020How are they being Apple? how can you not tell that they have been for years?

Marduch, 03 Aug 2020Haha, this Pixel 5 5G is the originaly intended 4 XL. Do you mean 4a XL?
2K@90Hz refresh rate 6.5" P-OLED panel
Return of symmetrical bezel for the return of front-facing stereo speakers
4,500mAH battery at least
Snapdragon 768G (at least it's cheaper that the 865)
Triple 16MP camera in the back (Ultrawide, regular, telephoto)
Dual selfie cam on the bezel (16MP with ToF sensor)
Return of the Headphone jack
21W wired charging at least
8GB RAM/256GB ROM (LDDPR5, UFS 3.0 at least)
At MAX for $800. I think that'd be reasonable for all this.
too much delayed, expensive. i'd settle for Oppo a72 5G
less the 300£, dualsim, dedicated card, 3.5" stereo slot, etc..
Hopefully, the rumored Pixel 5 turns out to be Pixel 4A 5G, while Pixel 5 actually uses a flagship SoC.
AnonD-945200, 03 Aug 2020what a fkn disappointment 😐 dear google don't try to be apple, price your products wisely. How are they being Apple?
350$ for last year's chipset, surely they have promised 3 years of update but that processor wont be capable to handle os till then only way will be security updates or SW features cut from OS.
Google never gets the formula right whether its flagship or midrange. They should have stuck with 3rd party manufacturers like good old Nexus days.
150USD more for 4A means I don't need 5G. Simple for me.
If I need 5G I would buy something much better than Pixel 4A
AnonD-945200, 03 Aug 2020what a fkn disappointment 😐 dear google don't try to be apple, price your products wisely. Every pixel has been. They've been underwhelming compared to competitors but priced way too high.
If you compare the camera bumps you would see they are the same , so in pixel 4a 5g there will be at least 2 camera . probably a wide and a telephoto .
It would be a great phone just if the price were lower(some thing like 399$) .
Hope that none of them repeat the past mistakes.
what a fkn disappointment 😐

Lightning2.0, 03 Aug 2020The things with rumors is that they can't speak for last minute changes regarding pricing... moreProblem is the regular 4a would be a much better deal if it was 50$ cheaper. At this price point, it's a stone throw away from the OnePlus Nord, which is besides the camera probably a better phone in every way.
