Redmi never fails to repeat and upgrade its devices.
The vast majority of users in the smartphone market needs more options and Redmi is providing it to them.
is it worth buying it
This company has lost the plot...
The redmi note 7 pro I bought for my mom will be the last xiaomi item I will ever purchase. Their quality, dependablity and priorities have nose dived in a few years' time...
Focusing on brand pollution number of devices AKA quantity instead of quality will be their undoing. And gutting the Poco line will be something they will never recover from.
Abd , 04 Aug 2020Overpriced junk Thats a good way to get attention. And yes its too overpriced they should have given sd865+ with 180mp camera and 7000mah battery that might be alright
A g bhat, 04 Aug 2020Does it support 5g? Noooo
Tbh their renaming/rebranding is getting outta hand!
Can't they make one device for a specific region, like Asia gets Redmi 9a and Europe gets Redmi 9b???

Oh yes, USD 133 or EUR 113 is too pricey, probably they should give 2 units at that price or maybe they shall give Snapdragon 865+ for this given price
Else this is overpriced junk
In 2019 Redmi had 3 lines, the entry level Redmi, mid tier Redmi Note and the upper mid tier Redmi Note Pro.
For 9999/- INR you could get at the beginning of 2019 a Redmi Note 7 with SD 660 processor, Samsung or Sony (international variant) IMX sensors, glass build and a largely ad free (not as invasive) OS.
Come 2020 and for the same price you get Mediatek processor (not the G90T but lower variant), unknown sensors, cheap plastic build, a sub-par display and a OS that is filled with ads and is buggy.
A massive massive downgrade. I would not surprised to find Unisoc processors in the near future.
Does it support 5g?
KondriX, 04 Aug 2020I really do not understand why a phone can't have the same name in all markets.. Redmi, V... moreDon't know about others but Prime series phones has been exceptionally successful in past for Xiaomi. Now their sales are dwindling and samsung has almost caught up with them. Last month they launched Note 9 pro phone with in the name of poco and now have launched prime series. They are desparate. Realme is giving better value for money in all price range. They need to launch phones with 90/120hz otherwise they won't be able to beat realme.
Overpriced junk
KondriX, 04 Aug 2020I really do not understand why a phone can't have the same name in all markets.. Redmi, V... moreIt is just to fool people that they are getting a new/better product. The redmi 3 prime was a great device so they used the name "prime" to fool people that this is a better device. Apple doesn't care about its competitors so apple is different.
KondriX, 04 Aug 2020I really do not understand why a phone can't have the same name in all markets.. Redmi, V... moreMarketing shenanigans of course...SMH
I really do not understand why a phone can't have the same name in all markets.. Redmi, Vivo, Oppo and so on are confusing people. For example, take a look at the Apple, iPhone 11 is iPhone 11 everywhere in the world.
