RIP. Had the mi a2, great phone except no 3.5mm jack. Also, did get very slow after sometime. But resetting it fixed the issues. Been using it for 2 years now. Still great

I've been using the Mi A2 Lite for almost 2 years and it's a great phone. Android One is not something cool in visuals but is extremely light and durable, which is much more important for me. Having a full day of hard usage with healthy battery is really precious! I would like to mention that when I finally took the gamble to update to Android 10 few months ago, everything was ruined. It was just not the same phone anymore. Hanging browser, info popups freezing on the screen and other bugs. When lately i noticed that fast charging is not working I got furious. Charging for 5-6 hours! Factory reset fixed most of the issues but after couple of days the charging problem came back. Then I decided to flash it to a 9.0 build manually and managed to do it today. I cannot be more happy and I hope it's healthy now. I don't care about my remaining 2 months of warranty or security risks, I just want to use my cool device normally. And yes, I would buy the next phone with "ugly Android" again if it's as reliable!

Let's compare the above issues to MiUI. I bought a Redmi 7A for my mother about one year ago. Yes, it's the cheapest crappy device for sure and I don't expect miracles from it. But it's still using MiUI, isn't it? It's the most inconvinient phone that I've ever used in my life. Crappy limited control, settings that are not working (you forbid something and it still works) and a constant struggle for customization. It's like mindless beast. It downloaded 1.8GB update via mobile network without any notification. MiUI is total crap compared to Xiaomi's Android One and I would never pay hundreds of dollars for such device, sorry. I may even return to Samsung's luxury money pits than be forced to this useless bloatware. Definitely Xiaomi shall lose many loyal One customers, too bad...

For those who are telling this that Google also steals data that said then BHIM also steals data because without accepting all permissions you can't use BHIM right na.
Their is a difference between stealing data and selling it which Xiaomi does and their difference between data that is being shared to Google.
That's fine then leave android go to iOS , oh i am sorry they take more user data than Google so what other options are left eh ????
Yes!!!!!! Why don't you guys make your own phones.

It is not stealing , it is about who is using our data and how they are using it.

Miui runs full if shits that are added as system apps which transfer your data without even giving permissions but in Stock you have authority to your mobile , of course they(GOOGLE) will take some data of your phone but they will not push stupid ads like MIUI.

And if you are so concerned with your data , then why providing details while opening bank accounts make your one own which will not steal data.

R.I.P. Xiaomi!.. This was the only one reason our whole family got always Xiaomi phones: because of the clean Android One. Ok, leaving Xiaomi, so sorry they made such idiotic decision. RIP Xiaomi....

As disappointed as i am about this, i'm not surprised considering Android One meant that Xiaomi could never put ads on these phones or whatever other crap they wanted so they could monetise it further. shame

I don't get why more companies do not participate in Android One. Less work for Xiaomi on the software part. What is the problem with that?!
