"I told you a long time ago that Flash is very destructive and a battery drain"
nekko, 29 Jun 2012Haha.. Android have not acquire enough cores and battery juice to run Flash properly. Somethin... morelet us start by the term add on... meaning you can add, but does not mean needed or required... I am also a fan of Symbian before i like how it works, I like how simple it is... but dude don't compare it to Android... your like comparing a 10 year old boy with a lot of things ahead of him and a 99 year old grand pa who cant walk without a stick... have you been under hibernation, move on dude embrace what is new... and just cherish the past..
TC, 29 Jun 2012If flash really was a big disadvantage for developers then they would already have changed eve... moreI see no problem on HTML 5. I have uninstall flash on my Android and now only runs on HTMl 5.
Whenever I enable Flash on my Android smartphones, it lags and makes the web page run slower than usual.
My everyday sites all runs on HTML 5 and most of them runs smoothly. If you want to use a Flash heavy websites, use a Computer.
Web is much more than streaming vidoes. Anyway, it appears most of the commentators don't have real, in-depth commercial experience (I'm not talking some cute/glossy "hello world" demo or prototype here) with either of the technologies, so the differences might not be obvious. From my experience, HTML5 (with some additional video/audio and layout tag) is NOT a Flash/Flex replacement.
The point here is not that one technology better than the other as a whole. Each was created to serve a different purpose and they do it well. Using Flash/Flex for static content is an overkill. Using HTML for dynamic/interactive content is a really big stretch. Let's not mix up hammers with screw drivers. Can't help but feel that we are going one step forward to go two steps backward here.
I recently bought a Samsung galaxy note, now there be no flash does that mean play store on android market means I can't download any games now??? Please help me I can return the phone and cancel my contract this sun 01 July 2012 hope to hear from you soon
android fanboy, 30 Jun 2012What is adobe expecting??? That every porn site or other streming sites will switch from flash... morenetflix already moved to silverlight and porn has the money to make the change fast. after all you give them all of yours.
Android will be be just fine. Do you really think just because Adobe stops flash, that it will kill off Android? Think again. Im sure Android has something better coming. Android is here to stay. That's why Apple is trying to stop Android from US. They know there days are numbered (GS3, GN2, Nexus 7 Tab, etc.).
Im sorry but flash videos on android were horrible. I'm using chrome on my one x andi much prefere HTML 5. It's much nicer
Fret not! We can port an existing flash to the next android with just some tweaking.
What is adobe expecting??? That every porn site or other streming sites will switch from flash to html5 just like that???? In their dreams, that will be a long process...
CaptainP, 30 Jun 2012There are plenty of other reasons to buy an Anroid. It's flash compatibility is really a minor... moreOh really? Every fandroid(not the normal user) on the earth said untill now, the biggest advantage of Android over iOS or WP7 is flash support.
Time to move on to Windows 8 tablet and Windows Phone 8 as they have Adobe Flash.
TheMan, 29 Jun 2012We don't care if Google or Adobe stopped Flash because we still have APK of Flash and it will ... moreIs it default? No, with hacks!
If this is true, I see some: panic, panic, panic :))
