FINALLY! Thank you Samsung! This is what i was waiting for.
For people who don't understand what "up to" means...
Samsung mentioned the last years Note10 & S10-series will get 3 major updated too. This means since they got already one major Android update (Android 9 => 10), they will get another TWO. With the last being the Android 12.
The new S20 & Note 20-series, will get 3 major Android updates, since Android 11 is still not ready. The 2020 S and Note line will get Android 13 as last major update.

I hope that the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Note 10 Lite will get 3 major updates too.

Who cares about a battery lasting 4 or more years... Seriously! Apple just do their best to catch up but besides their processors everything else is a gen behind. I can't believe Apple don't even allow one to resize icons, or to put additional icons in dock etc. or to organise icons on a homepage as I want to group them, can't do it. Basics that Android has had for years and years.

Reading these comments it seems that maybe 20% of you even read the article.

      Samsung's marketing dept:
M1 - "Geez, we always launch just before the next major Android release"
      M2 - "I know, let's spin that; *3* major updates!"
      M1 - "Huh?"
M2 - "We launch on the year old v10. When 11 releases in a few weeks, we update (I mean we're practically done it anyway, on the betas). Next year, 12 comes out, we update. The year after, 13, update and voila, 3 major releases! People will think they're getting longer support, Google does most of the heavy lifting for us (given Treble etc.), and we can still end security updates by the 3 year mark!"
      M1 - "That's devious. And brilliant!"
      M2 - "Thanks!"

They are trendsetters, not innovators. They've only popularized concepts. The iPods, iPads, iPhones, even iOS were based in other ideas.

But most people get rid of them before battery has a chance to wear out because software support gets killed off before battery goes bad. Also iPhone XR original battery with official service is 70€. 70€ every 2 years if you want peak performance is not really that much...

            2) No it doesn't slow down the phones. A lot of users reported that iOS 13 made their old iPhones so much faster and responsive. Besides, it's not the OS that get slow, it's just the hardware that's getting old. It's almost as if you're expecting software to upgrade phone's hardware somehow.

            3) Android also has a lowest supported version limitation. Some new apps just don't work anymore on older Android versions. And since really old phones run iOS 13 today, they'll support new apps for several more years without much problems.

            4) Neither are new features supported on Androids. Firstly because they just aren't supported and secondly, you don't even get updates for long enough to even spot that lmao.

I'm sure you hated widgets, but not any more. iOS copied features from windows mobile and Symbian. And immediately shifted their photocopying machines to Android when they're done with the dead two OSs. Even Steve Jobs, in defennce, said that great artists copy. LMAO.

They couldn't even copy it to be on par with what's currently available, let alone better it. Go hide in your cave!

This is why I want to switch to iPhone. Because I get minimum 5
                      major OS updates.

                      Android is maximum 2.

Screw you Android. After 7 years usage. I'm saying goodbye.

And many people thought the only Android is Samsung when other brands exist as well. No Android OS is created the same. When you have user-friendly but bloated OneUI, on the other hand MIUI with snappy performance but many bugs, EMUI with no GMS otherwise also fast, and realmeUI, ColorOS and FuntouchOS, well... (by the way iOS is fast but not that user-friendly)

                        I wouldn't touch a $50 Android with Unisoc chipsetm

Nobody is behind on anything, 5 years of updates ensures our phones are up to date on security updates, the same cannot be said for 5 year old androids. :)

You cannot make an argument about this kid and even Samsung know their update situation is poor, Google have had an issue with it for years and they are still trying to fix it.

But go ahead and desperately try make an argument against the improvement of a service, make us laugh...
