Regedit, 10 Aug 2020I agree with you in all the aspects of Sony Xperia. but S-Pen is not something which is just a... moreI know so many people that have Note and barely use the S-pen. Most of them bought Note for the big screen so I don't think S-pen is that relevant. When I had note 9, I used it seldom. The moment when I used it a lot was when I bought the Note 3 when it was brand new.
I would take an Xperia 1ii over this any day!

What did iPhone do after 2019 iPad bending fiasco?
2020 version bends as well, no improvements.
Throw it in the dustbin product. That is exactly what my father did to his iPad pro.
iOS never again!
Waiting for Mi 10 Ultra
Spike, 10 Aug 2020This survey didn't have a general question: was any of these phones worth the upgrade? No... moreIf you own previous version, there is rarely a reasonable benefit of upgrading to the next one.
Note is no exception ... and to be honest we all know our habits and reasoning behind buying new phone - it certainly is not "my old phone is dying, it's slow, battery is bad", but it's the usual "oooooh, shiny! New SOC! ... (that I will use 15% off) and better camera".
This survey didn't have a general question: was any of these phones worth the upgrade? No they aren't. Waiting for next year and no hurry
Smithravi, 10 Aug 2020Well since he was talking about form factor, I suggested him Xperia 1 II.

You just simply cannot express the user experience with the Pen. It has a defined character of its own.
Had this been so easy and simple, i am sure it would have been used by many competitors. Remember many companies tried their phones / tablets with the Pen, none had the success as Note.
My appreciations to Samsung for being consistent with improvements in S-Pen for Note and carry on this heritage.
Bottom line - Its the user experience/feel good factor that makes many incline towards the Note, otherwise Sony Xperia is not an easy phone to beat.
Last year was my last Samsung device. Don't get me wrong the Note 20 is a beautiful phone, but $1299 for a phone that has some ups and downs. 120hz efresh rate only at 1080p. Regular Note 2 has a sharper screen even know is a 1080p screen check Unbox Therapy video. US version only gets 128GB of storage and EU/China gets 256GB of storage.

Not to mention Sony is no longer up for preorder, so no bonuses there.
Samsung has better stabilization, better image quality on photos (worse colours through), much better software support + they actualy release bug fixes and logs (unlike Sony).
I would probably was able to find much more pros to Samsung and Sony but ... I don't wana, bored now.
I failed to notice what I am ignoring, elaborate if you must.
i was a note and Samsung fan for many years and always had note until model 10,
extremely ugly camera hump, shitty Exynos in my area, very bad battery life (for example S20Ultra with even bigger battery, it's about time the EU requires replaceable batteries), completely useless edge display especially for a Phabelt it's a waste of screen space, i don't know what the Samsung strategists think about, but probably nothing except the massively inflated price, i don't need a 5mm thin game device that can't be used after 6 hours because the battery gives up
Mikele, 09 Aug 2020Hmm so disappointed with Samsung new formula for Note 20s. Possibly the company wants a trial ... moreits far better to launch both note and s series together,,, with same hardware specs one has SPen one without SPen.
Add a little more and buy a powerful laptop instead of that useless phones.

I wouldn't suggest Note 20 Ultra because is bulky and has curved edges with punch hole.
Still, since you brought me the price comparison, Sony gives you free gift worth of 250$. Plus they give you SD 865. I don't why you seem to ignore these two as they are deal breakers for many as well. Not just AF and headphones jack. What's so special about Note 20 except for the S pen again???
[deleted post]Then don't look on samsung. Look others. Samsung is destroying the Note line in favor of the S Line.

Other than that Note is just a beast (even with all its issues) and Sony has nothing that comes even close ;)
But TBH when someone would give a choice to pick one - I would pick Sony for a headphone jack, much smaller body and to my eyes pleasant HDR/colour palet of photos.

But their results live up to their hype, not like the Nord and S20 Ultra which doesn't live to the hype. Huawei p40 pr plus has the best smartphone caneras to date, it is only bested by apple in video recording and samsung in ultrawide. The rest is top notch. When competition wins against huawei, it is only a small problems of overexposure and colours, which is small. But when Huawei wins, it is by a huge margin. Huawei's auto mode even bests other phones night mode.
iOS Succckkks, 10 Aug 20206 year update support is a joke when you get latest features 10 years late on iPhone.
Premium... moreDepends what you want in a phone. You want 6 years of software support and not the latest and greatest specs and features, or you want the latest and greatest features and specs, but only for 1 year, max 2 (until the phone starts lagging or stops receiving software support)?
Every company does this trick marketing stuff. Samsung, Huawei, everybody. And they are expensive too. Remember Huawei camera scandal? Of course not, you only remember Apple ones.
Is funny you mention Apple built quality and high pricing, remember Samsung Galaxy Fold? Yeah, great quality product (and they want the price of 2 good phones + a tablet for a bad product). Of course, now you will defend Samsung and say: "But they were innovating, they are pioneers, bla bla". So, if you are the first in something, you are excuse in doing it badly?
Not to mention the Note 20 fiasco, which for me is a bigger failure than Note 7 fiasco. I mean yeah, 1000$ for a plastic phone with nothing new on board (even the Note 4 had 1440p screen). Is the same as Apple wanting 1000$ for their monitor stand.
