i was a note and Samsung fan for many years and always had note until the model 10,
crappy exynos chipset in my country, extremely ugly camera hump, very bad battery life, you can see it on the S20 ultra even with a bigger battery, completely useless edge screen, edge is only there to make the smartphone looking smaller but the usable screen area is given away and would be especially important on a phablet, meanwhile it is completely incomprehensible what the market strategists at samsung think, but probably they don't think anything anymore, at least not from the user's point of view, i do not need a 5mm thin smartphone with a usage time of 6 hours!
[deleted post]Neah man competition is good for consumers. Samsung just needs to up their game in some key elements.
First release only SD versions all over the World (or at least make the Exynos competitive) and second make software support for 4-5 years (for their premium phones). The build quality of Samsung flagship phones is already very good, so they need to stay the same at this chapter.
Can't vote.
Because the real option is no.
No because devices live up to the expectation any more. Just compromises and high price tags.
The lineup fails to impress, with its high asking price and one phone for all market segments approach.
Buy Note10 Plus instead of the Note20. Note 20 Ultra, wait for the Mate 30 Pro. Z Fold2 wastes many resources, buy the Mate XS instead. But that's just my opinion. What's yours?
what is wrong with exynos SoC ?
I prefer exynos than snapD anytime.
[deleted post]6 year update support is a joke when you get latest features 10 years late on iPhone.
Premium iPhone markets regular cheap glass as Sapphire and launches phones.
It's only premium pricing, but phone quality is regular and cheap in many cases.
The polls need an: "Too expensive and doesn't give an ultra upgrade to Note Plus"
The Note 20 ultra is an embarrassment with its price tag of $1300. Single 10MP selfie, 25w fast charging, 4500Mah battery, no headphone jack, SD card slot that is shared with the 2nd sim card, Punch hole display, nothing new or innovative with its looks or form factor or the stylus.
You can buy $300-$500 phones that do 99% of the things this phone does and MORE. and they don't look BORING as hell either.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2020Xperia 1 II eye-focus feature is less useful than you think by the way. Pixel's object tr... moreI'm no Sony fan (considering they screwed over the American audience by not reducing the price for disabling 5G) but front-facing stereo speakers? Better thermal control? More natural-looking photos? Headphone jack with DAC? Better videography? MUCH less bloat? Better long-run battery? There's plenty to like about the Xperia 1 Mark ii more than the Note 20 Ultra IMHO. Numbers on that camera don't always mean anything (just look at Pixel).
The polls need an "I’d love to but there’s no way I could afford even a used one" option
Fearghast, 09 Aug 2020Xperia 1 II cost almost the same as Note 20 Ultra ... considering what Note can do (even with ... moreXperia 1 II eye-focus feature is less useful than you think by the way. Pixel's object tracking thing is a way more superior and useful in real life. Latest Sony has nice&flat design and this is basically it. Note20 Ultra is better in every possible way, even Exynos variant.
The wording of the poll options are getting more and more biased.
In some polls you don't allow dismay as an option, to appear.
CY, 09 Aug 2020Haha, I bought almost the same note with you, been user of note 2, 4, skipped 5 because of no ... morewe almost makes same choices mate :) note 8 has poor battery life but i really cannot tell but the design was somewhat is off for me. I wanted to buy note 9 so bad but 512 gb variant sold out like hot cake in my country because supply was so low.
I am looking next gen super high charging speed phone right now after note 20 fiasco. Maybe xiaomi mi 10 ultra maybe some other one. Until then note 4 still the king :)
For me the the plastic back, flat display and the lower refresh rate screen are okay, not a fan of curved displays, but they should've put the latest glass for the protection, it doesn't cost a lot, and paying a thousand for a phone, it wasn't too much to ask for. This whole new trend of multiple phones in a flagship series instead of one phone is ridiculous, the companies remove all the best features from the base variants, well then stop calling it flagship or pricing top dollar for that
I was so hyped, I even paid to get in the pre-sale. But my county will only get 4G variant for now. I can put up with exynos chip, but it only comes with 8g ram. Very disappointing considering the price
Can't call it flagship without the best processor in it, and the company shouldn't charge that price if they're to give Exynos instead of SD. The sole reason I'll never buy a Galaxy Note or S series phone
Ah so it seems I'm not the only one with the Exynos problem.
Good to know
