Why are people comparing US with China? Every country takes advantage of taking data for their own benefit. Nothing new. Everyone does it. Difference is just like India, US is democratic, people have power in their hands. Not so much in China. So the govt can do whatever they want without taking the emotional and the righteous state of mind of its people.

They were the first brought to court by government officials for data collection, monopoly and bad practices. China didn't allow them to work in their country in the first place, unless FB releases a Chinese Government approved social media platform with Chinese Govt curated content while Google releases a Chinese Govt approved search engine with Chinese Govt curated search results ONLY.

In other words, they are banned de-facto from China. Didn't get the memo?

Data leak of Skype, Facebook, and Google also happened (and still happening). The point is, both US and China (and their companies) are evil, but at least there is fewer risk of China government blocks apps in our countries than US Trump Administration.

Trump is becoming more like Kim Jong-un with each passing day. A Chinese company getting world-wide success and becoming better than American companies, he immediately threatens them and tries to prevent them from getting better than American companies. There is no other explanation. Are there any people actually believing that Trump is doing all this because he is worried about national security or something?

Think of much the company would be, if it would not be affected by the ban. much more than actually in the offer. As the company is being at the brink of a ban, the value of the company is reduced.
