It'... moreWhat I hear from experts in the glass manufacturing is that optical quality gets affected when the hardness gets tougher and vice versa....hence sapphire as such good for hardness but not great for optics. They need to manufacture it in a type of glass and apply coatings to reduce reflections, aberration, and various other things to let the amount light more and allow the sensors to resolve the colours at higher resolutions

JerryRig exposed them as he exposed the bendable iPad.

At least they've stop marketed sapphire lens as it's an outright lie, just like Samsung calling plastic "glasstic".
