I'm saying Xiaomi is piggybacking on the popularity of Samsung's Ultra name in their phones, not who used it first back in 2013. Read the comment I wrote before spouting nonsense.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2020Huh? Doogee makes ip rated phones. How hard is it really to manufacture?Yup, on rugged phones. I suppose it's not that hard to achieve the IP68-level waterproofing when you can just slap a rubber cap on at least some ports. They also don't have to worry about heating or other potential issues because people who spend 80€ on a rugged phone don't expect a gaming phone, they just want something that can survive water and a couple of drops.

The IP68 ratings on phones like Doogee or Ulefone also prove that the IP rating services aren't that expensive as e.g. OnePlus tries to convince us. The main issue is that waterproofing a non-rugged phone is quite expensive - Lei Jung said around 4 years ago that if Xiaomi was to make the phones waterproof, the price of such phones would raise by 20-30% (source: https://www.androidauthority.com/xiaomi-waterproof-phones-699369/). That was 4 years ago when Xiaomi was a value king. Now they're comfortable keeping the manufacturing costs to an absolute minium while charging customers absolutely astronomical prices.

This edition is set to be a limited edition. Why would they make it with 6GB and have it less than the Mi 10!!! Its supposed to be a specs beast showcasing all their tech.

If you want a cheaper phone just get a Mi 10 and leave this for true enthusiasts!

And Yes I am a xiaomi fan, and a user of mi 9 but this is ridiculous, why would anyone need 16gb in this 10 upcoming years
This should have neen reduced the price by 300$, what a dissapointement, the mi 9 that I have is 6gb, why this transition to 16gb
If the price is more than 800$
