IOS users are genuinely clueless and simply don't understand Android.

Google has no say in what apps you can remove & what apps you can't.

They have great SoC and built ecosystem, tool gates, etc...but they have no clue how to make great games, but asking others to work for them to just get their 30% just because they build THE ECOSYSTEM!! The real studious developers probably understood their designs and started packing their bags already...
Al-Aqsa Lover, 08 Aug 2020Lol, Stadia can be accessible via Google Chrome, Now can they ban Google Chrome too?!!Stadia is useless at this point. You need to pay a subscription and then to pay for the actual game you want to play. And if you already own the game, that means you already have played it on PC or console, probably already finish it. So, what is the point of paying for a service like Stadia?
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2020Apple alternative: they will introduce their own app... oh wait... they already have Apple Arc... moreIt could be. But only if xcloud will be a success.
But, imo, mobile games should stick to phones/tablets. And triple A games should stick to PC/consoles.
I don't know about other people, but when I tried to play Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch Lite it wasn't the same experience for me. Is like something was missing, I don't know how to describe it. The same I will probably feel about playing Halo or Gears of War on a 6" screen.
This are not games made for phones/tablets initially. I think they are to complex and to beautiful to be enjoyed on small screens.

Imo opinion this is a bad move from Apple. And of course is not to necessarily protect its customers, but mainly to protect its Apple Arcade (which by the way, is not a bad idea if they can make developers get on board and make some good games).
Leaving aside this bad policy from Apple, which in time can be changed too, let's think logic for a minute.
Nobody will buy Game Pass Ultimate if they will not have at least an Xbox or PC or both. So, that means you already have a gaming system (far better than any phone/tablet on this planet). So, why people are going crazy about this game streaming on phones?
Plus, this are not your typical mobile games, that you can make a 15-30 minutes gaming session at a time. To fully enjoy an AAA game (with story line, character built up, thinking strategy, etc.), you need to play for couple of hours. Imagine the battery life, eyes fatigue, etc. on a 6" phone.
Not to mention that you need a very good internet connection to make the game fairly enjoyable. I don't know about you, but in many Europe countries, the internet is really bad or very expensive to have a good connection.
Sony tried something similar with their PS Vita-PS4 combo and it didn't work out to well for them. Start a game on your PS4 and continue it on your PS Vita. With this xcloud, I think it will be an enthusiasm at the beginning, but when issues will start to appear, this enthusiasm will fade away.
No phone or tablet (no matter how powerful) will beat the pleasure of playing an AAA game on a console-TV or PC-monitor combo. Period.
Phones and tablets should stick with their mobile games and try to make them better, not jump into PC/console territory, imo.
So what's the excuse for allowing Roblox and Minecraft style games where you can basically enter a user created world on demand?
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2020Look who’s talking the guy has a phone with 16 gig of ram snapdragon 865 plus and still can’t ... moreAnd the A bionic throttles hard compared to Snapdragon almost every single year and this year is no exception, the A13 still got crushed in sustained gaming compared to the 865. Oh yeah! The iPhone Se 2020 has such pathetic battery life that everyone has to bring a charging bank right next to them to keep the phone alive under intense usages. About the 60fps Asphalt 9/Fornite, a lot of phones this year has 60+Hz displays and there are over 200 games that can support high refresh, so your point got destroyed :).And like always, the gaming experience on the iPhone is garbage compared to Android devices in general.
Apple alternative: they will introduce their own app... oh wait... they already have Apple Arcade..
Maybe apple have plan to introduce or integrate game streaming service to Apple Arcade and charge more for that feature..
Apple doesn't deserve to exists. They are afraid that people will get to play better games. Specially if you can imagine the new iPhone A14 Bionic chip and 120hz screen.
The thing I'm scared about Apple is that this might just be a start of further bans in the future.
Look, if now they claim, these games cant be played because they're not reviewed by Apple, then what will stop them from doing so with movies on Netflix (which competes with Apple TV) and music from Spotify (which competes with Apple Music) ?
Glad I got out of the Apple ecosystem ...

What a blatant lie from Apple. Customers can already access a wide range of content outside of their control in a number of apps like Netflix, Youtube, Instagram or even web browsers. But game streaming would probably hurt sales of native iOS games and services so they block competitive services. It really hurts innovation and competition.
RejZoR, 08 Aug 2020Unfortunately, you only have two options. Google spying garbage with pathetic update support c... moreIt's time for a Linux Steam and Stream phone. A Linux phone again. There are ways to run old x86 code full speed on ARMS, has been for X years. They load in x86 machine code and make an arm version they use in the future. In terms of dynamically changeable code, they trap this and cache the new versions. NVIDIA does that with ARM code in their own custom internal processor on some of their ARM chips.
So, they could easily do a deal with AMD, and maybe even Intel, for a little licence, or Intel chips. However, some x86 instructions sets are just open. So older code doesn't need a license. So, Linux or android could do now.

I wish smartphones were as easy to install new OS as it is on PC. I'd love to run Linux based OS on a smartphone and have the ability to lock bootloader afterwards to secure it back. Like, almost full blown stuff that would have support on level of something like Ubuntu. Instead we have this stupid duopoly of Android and iOS. And yeah, I don't consider Android as having more alternatives. LineageOS only works on relatively small select of phones and without Google's junk it's rather useless and also once you unlock bootloader to install it, banking apps crap themselves and refuse to work.
