Trump has set a very bad precedent banning use of US tech on flimsy national security grounds. Other nations will look for and find alternatives to US tech for their products. Expect phone makers to dump Qualcomm and buy more MediaTek and Exynos chips from now on.

The whole purpose of the ban is to stop them developing their own technology and taking business away from American companies so potentially they might be able to use Snapdragon chips
