This was all done on purpose. Like Huawei spygate scandal, which never occured. This happened because Huawei was gaining ground over Apple, now Tiktok was in lead against Reels, which is a stupid and not catchy name for social network at all.

Since Trump administration, world has gone to hell.

I saw many people saying data collection then first every country should ban facebook they literally collecting data like hell and also they don't even know how to store it properly. And i dont support tiktok. But i feel like if you are in internet then everything is data collection. Internet need data to work. For eg: if youtube don't take your data then it gonna show some stupid recommendations. Same with tiktok its how you store them and for tiktok they never got any data breaches unlike Facebook.

[deleted post]I rather choose USA than China. Just go and leave for couple of months in China. As a foreigner let's see if you enjoy it. And I am not talking language boundaries here.

Wockie, 08 Aug 2020Canada should have also banned TikTok by now. Are we waiting for another Nortel to happen ? ht... moreChinese government provided vendors financing...if you compare that of Nortel, Ericsson, Nokia, etc... you see Huawei and ZTE provided more than twice amount of financing. Another example of debt trap....ask any equity analysts.

Seriously now, the article that Trump has written is great. It's extremly well organized and written. It does cover many points. Even if tiktok says they don't give "proof", isn't the possibility to blackmail federal employees enough proof? Stop collecting data, don't do it again and that might help your cause.

That article written by Trump himself made me change my view about him (comes from a romanian so basically my opinion doesn't matter to americans I guess), he isn't crazy, I think he made the right choice

Hm... If China blocks messengers , internet services from other countries - what do they want in other countries to China messengers?

It is unfair block others, but complain that others block you.

Not sure if their customer base would continue to use a service with such bad practices.

The United States does not impose these bans just by chance. They're not all of a sudden. They are most definitely not due to being threatened by competition. Decisions like these are made after months, if not years, of investigation. Every time a company gets caught, it plays the victim. All of the crying and looking for sympathy from the people is damage control. By that time, it's too late.

Btw, the US isn't the only country that has banned Huawei or TikTok. The list of countries, regions, businesses and organizations which are banning, debating or rethinking business engagements with Huawei is substantial.

If the classified information regarding Huawei's and TikTok's data collection and antitrust infractions ever leaked, the world would view both companies very differently. The United States and other countries are showing leniency by only exercising executive orders as opposed to exposing each company's violations and true intentions.

This website and community is so anti-America. The comment section of countless articles are riddled with derogatory posts about the United States. What's even more ridiculous is that members of staff don't do anything about the toxic atmosphere. That's just the norm around here. It's okay, though. No worries. We have thick skin, and will remain strong!

Here's a dose of honesty for you. Not only have I never heard anyone say how much they would love to purchase a Huawei device, I don't know anyone who has ever owned one. As many people as I have seen out and about using smartphones over the years, not one that I have directly observed has been by Huawei. I'm so serious. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they're out there - just not enough to care.

Huawei's ban is not a topic of discussion anywhere that I go. There are online articles about it, and maybe a small segment on the news, but nothing that People just aren't interested. There are plenty of great, trustworthy, smartphone manufacturers to choose from. Unfortunately, Huawei isn't one of them. Maybe in the future, once the company cleans up its act, we'll embrace it.

Until then...Good riddance, Huawei and TikTok.
