NGM, 10 Aug 2020Qualcomm's GPU dominance may finally come to an end because of RDNA GPUs coming in Exynos... moreTheir is so much hype about RDNA well everyone will see if its worth the hype. For desktop purpose RDNA is good enough but in smartphones no one knows and samsung failed to deliver their home made gpu so lets see.And i saw somewhere that it will only be applied in the flagship samsung so lets see how RDNA performs

if i were huawei, i would go with mediatek, they make much cheaper and pretty good lately chips(see the new dimensity series, very good in terms of performance AND battery efficency).fuck qualcomm and their expensive chips, they are the reason behind the big prices of this year.

I’m wondering what Qualcomm going to do if one plus/Oppo (one plus sister company of Oppo) and Xiamio decide to fabricate there own chip?!.

BUT Other Critical components like DSP,ISP are still unmatched.

Also Snapdragons have the Highest performance per Square area of the chip.It indicates the very high efficiency of Snapdragons.

Qualcomm makes very competitive chips but the reason I hate most about Qualcomm is their Crooked business policies. The literally want to eliminate the entire Competition to create Monopoly so that they can have maximum Profits.

No way in hell will Huawei use qualcomm chips. They can survive in China with Mediatek, without gms they can't sell too many phones in other coutries anyway. We will see who wins the long game.

Qualcomm and Apple two major corporations due to the inability to compete at the highest levels throttling innovations through bullying using governments etc....QC has the worst reputation and Apple is proving to be no different. But unfortunately US President taking all the beatings!

Huawei with Qualcom chips? Dat sounds like the downfall song for Samsung... and I bet Samsung and Mediatek will also rally to make sure this doesn't happen...

And if it does.. its also going to put Huawei back into tge American smart phone game...

In conc it looks like... it ain't gonna happen 😅

Whackcar, 10 Aug 2020If Huawei starts using Snapdragon chips on their flagships, then there won't be any downg... moreNo, actually using qualcomm in the short term will remove competition even further.

Know how qualcomm is charging $275 for it's snapdragon 875? Waaaay to expensive.

On the other hand, by using mediatek, mediatek has one of the biggest phone companies that need it's chips, therefore they will start making flagship chips that are more bang for your buck.

Later, qualcomm might decrease it's prices to compete with mediatek, which is good for everyone, including huawei. That might be a incentive huawei to switch again.
