If you do sth. WeChat people (or the people behind them) don't like, they can activate your selfie to have a look, you really need experience it to believe it.

Exyvia, 11 Aug 2020Technically, Apple would still be doing business with them which is against the executive order.Maybe, if that is the case though, when push comes to shove, Apple would likely get a license to deal with them like Microsoft and Intel did to supply Huawei. Otherwise, without Wechat, they would virtually disappear from China. It seems unlikely that the US would punish an American company to that extent

More than likely it will just be removed from the American Apple app store. The Apple app store in China will probably still have it so it probably won't have much effect

As simple as it may appear, all chinese apps should be banned from all markets outside china, that's it, just like the chinese ccp does inside their paradise wonderful heaven of freedom and neverending happiness

Well, ban the Apple Store retailation as those apps can't be trusted without CCP intervention, the next move. And so on in this new war... How far it'll go? They better avoid an arm conflict. Too many Ch destruction plausible .. Let's see which countries will win with their mutual self damage in the global market and scene...

Oh, it WILL. Plenty of Chinese (including my in-laws) use iPhones. Remove WeChat (something EVERYONE there uses for messaging, mini-apps, video calls, and payments) and Apple's sales will plummet to the ground.

I'm surprised Apple's CEO hasn't tried convincing the government to not do it.

Does anyone care about Apple's iPhone sales? This is one of the many US companies that kowtows to China just to make a buck. Burn in hell, Apple.
