It's previous Chennai plant which served the Indian needs is what is being used now too, albeit under different owner.

I'm not missing MIUI or Xiaomi phones at all. I don't even care about them anymore. It is so refreshingly different using a completely stock Android skin a la Pixel and knowing that I continue to get the latest software updates and security patches.

Pure Android has lots of bugs.. Nokia needs to upgrade its software game and move on from stock Android.. Rocking a Nokia 6 Pie with minor glitches now and then.. Camera is still beast.. Pure 16MP detail beats any 48MP pretentious sensor with just 12MP worth of detail..

The Nokia808 first bought the hi-res oversample, big sensor wit... moreNokia 808 was with symbian, 80% of the population still has no idea that symbian is the father of them all mobile Operating systems, and was a darn good system. So yeah, was a niche streight on release, as they knew, will be bought by very few people who enjoy something out of ordinary. Lumia 1020, which i still have, yes, was a beast camera and still is, but many had no idea that 1020 actually exists. It is a great device but it was not build for mass appealing. For mass appealing their were Lumia 925 or 930. And let's not forget it was lumia 920 that brought OiS (was also called pureview) but we all know that device was made for the mass and was a great device with a lot of firsts in mobile world, but nothing as insane as 1020, which was a niche.
Nokia 9 pureview also brought something new. A new way of doing photography, insane deaph of field and true monocrome cameras that takes such lovely pics you want to kiss it. And exactly like with the other two, if you know what you're doing, you can achive very impressive shots. As i was saying none in the past was made for selfie ducks, and this one is no exception.

I am very happy with my Nokia 8, already for three years, it has all the functions I need in home or business. Look forward to any new developments or range and availability in Australia.

Currently HMD Global is just a design house. HMD just draws some sketches+specs and then "e-mails" them to Foxconn for contract r&d and manufacturing, Foxconn rumage around in their parts bin and tools, makes phones by the cheapest means necessary. Hopefully these investments help to make an in-house r&dcenter for software and more importantly for hardware.

The Nokia808 first bought the hi-res oversample, big sensor with dedicated image processor to the game. It was way ahead of competitor at the time, especially when zoom (or crop, whichever you prefer to call it). The Lumia bought OIS and one of the most intuitive manual control to the camera app. Both era achieved some of the best image quality output with details topping the bar... With no fancy software algorithm to over saturate the colour riding on the HDR wagaon. Hack, the manual control on Lumia even produce pretty darn good night photos at its era. Can't say the same now, and it certainly wasn't a niche at that time, except really, the Nokia 9, as it lackluster performance heads on.
Really, have use any of the pre HMD Nokia Pureviews??

Google doing many random things with its mobile phones! It was doing great until Nexus 6P! Pixel move was bad and their pricing strategy was unsustainable in the Android world with its acting like Apple can’t fool customers. Apple built reputation over a long period and testing its strategy with pricing. Android has many competitors and consumers won’t bother outside USA to pay premium for vanilla android. Now Pixel 4a with midranger spec, now fiddling with Nokia...God help them in finding stability in their minds!

Well I hope they use the money to vastly improve their phones, because this Nokia 7.2 is a terrible phone, also they should increase the amount of repair shops in Australia, this is important as it seems All Nokia phones need repair due to continually being faulty. And I hope they put some of the money towards employing a real support team who actually give real support instead of the terrible support team they currently have, Nokia have a very long way to go before people start choosing them over the many other great choices of high quality phone's

Nokia phones are rea... moreMy 2019 Nokia phone hasn't received third party notifications since the Android 10 update in April, and they still haven't rolled out the confirmed fix in the US. Hard to think of them as a serious 5G phone contender when their handsets don't even get third party notifications.
