Google makes very good software, but fails at hardware. lol.
Is like Android system doesn't want to have something perfectly working.
I hope Huawei will make a good impression on people and in the end they will decide to leave Google for good and make their own OS.
This market definitely needs something new and refreshing.
Pixel 4a the smaller variant pixel4a5g 6-6.4 pixel 5 6.67 no need for a XL model I get it
Is it really hard to make a good phone when all the ingredients are available?
Most manufacturers mess up with the software but Google doesn't have that problem yet they have produced more failed phone than successful ones.
Or they just deliberately do it? Who knows...
This is sad, stupid move from Google. We need compact flagship! World don't need more 6.67. phones, enough! Why phone manufactures don't understand that?! Compact I mean
I don't think I'll be getting the next Google phone as for the specs are now overpriced.
Switching from nexus 4to nexus 6 to pixel xl to Huawei phones then to 3 XL, I think my next phone will be either a Samsung or OnePlus.
I want a phone with decent storage for my music, more customisation, better camera (yes the Huawei camera is a lot better than the Pixel camera). I know I'll still have bloatware just like on Google phones and can get better deals in UK for other manufacturer phones.
Yes I've had iPhone but unless you can jailbreak it, there is no customisation, no easy file transfers and locked down more than android and thus won't touch again
Hope Pixel will come with big battery
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2020Its a downgrade to my OnePlus 6 with crappy slow CPU/APU I dont know what so buy anymore. P... moreI'm in the same boat. Samsung is selling Exynos only and their two Snapdragon models for Europe have garbage tier green tint displays, LG doesn't know what updates are, Sony is dead, Xiaomi can't manage any notifications and is bloated.
Well I probably will be looking at the Pixel 5 XL if that is really gonna be the only Pixel 5. I have a Pixel 2 XL and absolutely love it. Best phone I've had. But the specs on the 4a seems to be inferior to my phone.
I was considering the one plus 8 5g since sprint and t-mobile are one in the same but this article gives me hope that there will be a 5XL instead of the initial rumors that they are releasing only a small version. Not interested in a small phone like the 4a or 5.8" pixel 5. The one plus 8 is attractive because of the price, speed, fingerprint scanner, size, charging speed, and battery size. I'll go with a 5XL if that's the option though, the 4/4XL are discontinued and hard to get.
Its a downgrade to my OnePlus 6 with crappy slow CPU/APU
I dont know what so buy anymore. Pixel is now only providing slow ass devices with 4 year old Adreno (1/3 of performance of current Adreno) and OnePlus is full of Facebook Bloat and Spyware. Android is dead.
Anonymous, 14 Aug 2020This phone shouldn't be more than $600, and not releasing the smaller version makes sense... moreThat would b perfect
With the release of the 4a, and the impending release of the 5G variant of the 4a alongside the 5XL, there's no incentive to take that a step further. I for one will be getting the 5, after realizing how much of a difference regular updates mean, even on my T-Mobile carrier variant. I think Google has hit the sweet spot in price versus performance. With their camera prowess leading the way, Google will have a few hits on their hands, now, if they REALLY want to impress me, give me all three cameras.
I use Pixel 3xl. So if it's a good battery, good speakers and camera has telephoto and wide screen I am game. Definitely like the fingerprint sensor, one of the several things I didn't like about the 4 series. From what I see, the 765 is as good as the 845 in my current phone. I think for most folks, this is more than enough. I always end up coming back to a Pixel. Android is so clean and the camera.... To my eye, it always wins. I would also like to see an option for 90 refresh rate.
If it's a flip, I'll probably go work the OnePlus 8 pro. It looks like the camera has significantly improved.
Anonymous , 14 Aug 2020The phone has amazing battery life… Do you comment on a lot of phones you don’t even use or?I have used phones with the same battery capacity you genius. It won't magically get 1 or even 2 hours more then other devices. Why are you commenting if you don't have the 4a either?
Bogdan, 14 Aug 2020Companies making Android phones: More is better, no? I feel sorry for the Android users tha... morebig issue for me has been the zilch trade-in from apple for an android phone. but if there's no compact pixel, I'll bite the bullet. I've come to despise google more than apple the last couple of years so that will help the move over.
GregLu, 14 Aug 2020699 USD for a 8/64 GB with a S765G ? Good luck Google selling that ... At least provide 128 GB... moreConsidering that Google is trying to catch Apple, I don't think Google would consider microSD card slot for the Pixel.
Please Make the xl bigger then 6.67
699 USD for a 8/64 GB with a S765G ? Good luck Google selling that ... At least provide 128 GB or even 256 since it doesn't have any MicroSD slot. Or here's an idea : Put a damn MicroSD slot.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2020You don't need all fancy cameras with computational photography. Many 4 camera phones can... moreAdaptive refresh rate. Did you ever hear about this? Trust me, in the near future all of the flagships will have higher refresh screens.
About cameras, OK, not every camera phone can match with the Pixel, but imagine a Pixel with 3 type of cameras made WELL!
