This phone shouldn't be more than $600, and not releasing the smaller version makes sense because they already have Pixel 4a for that matter

But the company is not appealing for me, nor most of their devices. Also, I have spent a bit in android apps, have got used to changing icons and use NFC for other things than only Apple pay. Not to mention the battery...

I have android phone and it does exactly what I'm expecting from it. My wife has iPhone from work and I don't see what it brings more. In Europe android is more popular cause it comes with your plan. Average consumer don't mind of these years update support, they update only cause option is "on" by default. After 4 years they have changed several times phone cause broken or upgrade with plan. They have no clue what is A13 bionic or a soc. All this is for tech fans, a minority.

Let's see, one the one hand we have this rumour which claims that Google will only release a 5XL. On the other there's a 5G teaser on Google's own device store showing a larger 4a-styled device plus a smaller device.

Companies making Android phones: More is better, no?
I feel sorry for the Android users that do not want to try iphones just out of hatred for Apple or because they wrongfully think that all iphone users are sh**p. Let's be honest, in the last 2-3 years is better to have an iphone than an Android phone. Especially when you need to carry bricks in your pockets.
RIP compact Android flagships.

700$ will be 700€ in Europe ... For that budget specs are a joke. OnePlus manage to pack more in 389€ handset. Pixels are always overpriced. I managed to get the 4XL recently for 500€, that price is not even a killer deal, just the price it had to be at released considering global package. When Google bring 8/128G and 120ghz display for 700€ at this time of the year we should find it outstanding ... Pathetic. And sd865, quite outdated in October, should be standard for so much money.

I think they well release both pixel 4a5g and pixel 5, because they are copying others marketing strategies (releasing more than one device in a deferent prices), so customers who are looking for pixel experience we'll be encouraged to buy depending on their financials.
In other words customer will justify his or her purchase by comparing two devices, not one against a plethora of other Android phones.

Many 4 camera phones can't match single lens pixel. Also, what's the point of 120hz refresh if it's gonna kill battery? You need bloatfree software and things are pretty smooth.

I would never buy any other phone except the Pixel after experiencing the smaller 3 flagship. Was looking forward to the 5 but not the slab monster coming, what a shame. Yes we have the 4a but is is not a 5.
Basically it's looking like a 4a and 4a xl in some respects. Hope not, I'll have faith. At least Apple give choice size of their top ones. Otherwise wait another year or look at 2021 Nokia's now that Google and Qualcomm have invested a good chunk.

this is very disappointing. Google could make a high end phone that could deliver the best android experience like how apple does with their Iphones and IOS. But google keeps making stupid decisions and missing and botching the opportunity. if they could take what samsung does with the note series or what LG does with the V series and design a phone with all that high end features people would buy it. BUT google keeps on doing half-as job designing phones and it turns me and other people off from buying their phones
