It'll be interesting to see how Apple or Google responds to the duopoly of their app stores being challenged from various vectors.

Google says only one option on apps downloaded from the play store! ... moreSo every non-GMS phone should be banned from purchasing skins in Fortnite and other games? If Google wanna demand that everyone use their garbage then all devices most be able to use it, some manufacturers cannot be locked out either everyone has GMS or non need to have it and Google is shooting them self in the foot by not protesting the Huawei ban and work with the smaller brands in Asia these brands may be small but combined leaves really many non-GMS devices on the market. :I #NOmoreFRAGMENTATION

Google says only one option on apps downloaded from the play store! If it's downloaded from the Appgallery then there should be a different option there. Most likely Huawei will ask for 30% (cos that's the industry standard. Even Steam charge 30%).

When you buy something from the supermarket you pay more than buying directly from the producer. Right? Cos the supermarket needs to make profit too. It's the same here.
It has always been the case. Now Epic decided they are the exception.

AnonD-888522, 15 Aug 2020LMFAO....nope IOS is a mature and a massive market filled with customers willing to spend mone... moreDevelopers losing 30% on every transaction in the App Stores. This may work fine for non entities but established players don’t need generic marketing (MS Office for example) offered as standard package from Playstore and developers have no clue how many got targeted how many converted etc...again for non entities this may not matter much but the business running using mobile platforms are in the dark how to improve their business and their business intelligence tools without violating App Store policies. Also, Apple is hosting its own Apps competing with others while managing the platform!

Developers competitors and their Apps will be mindlessly promoted in a common platform without highlighting their edge over the other and cutting same 30% from both!

It is inevitable that both App Store & Play Store will undergo rigorous scrutiny from authorities.

Why because Google demand that only their payment option is in the app which leaves epic with 2 fixes, one ditch the play store or two lock out every non-GMS device on the planet... [deleted post]80% of that 80% use cheap android devices because Apple is out of budget.

It's like saying people prefer a Kia over a BMW because there are more Kia's around.

Best selling premium phones are by far iPhones. Australia, Japan, USA, Nordic countries and UK prefer iOS. that's where the money's at

If you create your own app it means you are a developer (u get the license for 99 a year tyo use their developing kit) which means u can use your app just not sell it unless you sign up to an agreement that apple has to take 30% of the profits for transactions over 6.99 or 85% after a year of successful business

Apple's appstore is the most successful store because it is being more controlled. If anyone can upload anything on it without apple monitoring then you end up with viruses and stolen data.

Epic should be banned everywhere. They are the cancer of the gaming world.
They charge 8 dollars for something that has NO cost. It's virtual money! If they made it 7 dollars they wouldn't have to pay apple a penny.
