I have just bought a Huawei P30 Pro, but it has not yet arrived. I live in the UK and worried about how this ban would affect my device. Does anyone have any advice? Should i return the phone and buy something else?

I have a P30 Pro. Should I sell it or wait to see what happens next? Whether the license will be renewed or not.
I bet there are a lot of peeps out there who want it just for the camera and doesn''t care if it loses google support.

Chris Luke, 16 Aug 2020It's amusing to know huawei kept boasting their new os hongmeng but rely heavily on andro... moreThey are still working on it, there is also the issue that even if they implement it... Its still not gonna work with apps requesting Google services or GMS! Which is total bullcrap another reason Fortnite is right to figth Google, if only their shitty payment method is there how is a Hauwei, Meizu or Firephone user gonna buy skins? (also more brands but eeeh to many to list)

KwantowyYebaka, 16 Aug 2020Huawei can no longer produce processors as a dead companyYou don't understand anything.
Huawei's consumer business is small for Huawei.
Many other phone manufacturers do not make CPU such as LG, Motorola, Sony etc.
Huawei high end phone CPU/SoC 99x or 10xx,
But they can purchase from Qualcomm or Mediatek , the mid-end Kirin 710A, is made by Chinese chip maker SMIC.

Seriously ?
You don't need worry about anything.
I have many Android devices were never not certified or licensed by Google, they are still working fine. Even many certified LG, Samsung devices after a year , normally it wouldn't get firmware or security update as well. But who cares ?
I just checked my old Huawei Honor 6x, everything is working fine, Google never provided any support or security update for any other manufacturers anyway !
Android OS itself is open source system, many other based open source Android system such as LineageOS , even older CyanogenMod is still working fine, they can access Google play store and all GMS system without needing license and Google certification

Zero, 17 Aug 2020Neither Samsung and Sony if the situation continues like that. Only Apple and Apple.Samsung produces its CPU in South Korea and if I remember correctly they have reduced production in China. Sony, I believe they more cameras for phones than CPU. Apple uses Foxconn for production but I think Foxconn move their production Taiwan or Vietnam (not sure though).

Huawei(honor) and google said that existing devices will be supported in the future so my partner bought honor 20 and thought about using for about 2-3 years.

We live in europe and probably there will be no compensation even 50 euros for phone which will be destroyed by lack of updates in 1 year before purchase...
