It's going to be interesting to see the image quality on this tech. I'm still skeptical.
I hope that next year will be the „year of the under-display camera“, just like 2018 was the year of the wide notch, 2019 was year of the waterdrop notch and this is the year of the punch hole. The under-display camera seems like the perfect solution to me.
I’m waiting for Demongornot to preach about the advantages of the pop-up cam, any moment now…

You should gather your fears about spying and do some more research on how Android utilizes the front camera in regards to permissions and notifications.

Relatively speaking it's actually a big chin. I'm glad they've pushed this tech though, let's hope others follow with a wider market.
Davy Jones, 18 Aug 2020Haven't seen a phone with rectangular screen corners since a long time 😫I haven't seen a Ford Model-T running on the roads in a long time 😭

They're right about the cut outs, but "pop-up mechanism will bring you sadness"? It's literally the best option we have right now (besides tiny selfie in tiny bezel), and I'd totally pick a pop-up selfie cam over the under-display camera any day of the week because
a) it gives you same advantage in terms of screen-to-body ratio without any potential color/brightness issues associated with under-display camera, and
b) privacy concerns. Personally I prefer to have my phone's selfie covered as well, especially after that FaceTime screw-up. You never know, and it wasn't long ago when people who covered their laptop selfie cameras were considered tinfoil freaks. With pop-up camera, it's hidden until you need it. With selfie camera in bezel, it looks goofy when you have sticker over it, but it doesn't limit the functioning. With under-display selfie camera, good luck, you'll be covering part of your screen.
They can hide it in the chin lol
Wow great job ZTE looking forward for launch, if it's with 700$ might consider buying it
