The mid-range and cheaper flagships cut cost by using cheap oleds, which start dying within a year. LCDs last forever. I own Redmi K20 as the deeper blacks are cool at first but the screen has issues. It's perfectly fine if it's Samoled, otherwise the Chinese ones are shit.

IpsDisplay, 18 Aug 2020Wish they would keep the LCD screenIt is an LCD screen because there's a fingerprint scanner on the side under the volume button based on the teaser. Using an OLED but leaving the on-screen fp reader seems dumb in my opinion so there's no way that's an OLED display.

Looks like a side-mounted fingerprint reader from the teaser because the bump for power button was nowhere to be found so it's definitely an IPS screen. Disappointed that they remove the dedicated google assistant button.
And it's definitely another flip camera style because you can see the cut out at the top frame from the teaser. Hope they keep the good stuff from the 6's.
