"the phone has a rare dual screen design with a hinge that allows it to fold in half"

Oh great!

"The hinge is pretty standard, you can find similar designs on many laptops. The Duo is not a foldable phone"

What?!!!

Of course I will be their fanboy if others bring just placebo devices.

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2020Enlighten me which foldable Huawei phone must vendor learn from?Even old mateX, it got nice looking design inside out, bendable screen not some copy/paste, full thickness for camera sensors and all fovs. MateX2 coming soon may even have pen inside, I bet it wont be too thick for users to care.
That is if it was intended to replace your phone, from looks its very thin line of customers, which wouldnt be so bad if at least they got together inside design and cameras, screen could wait. Now it just looks interesting but not exciting.

I definitely would never consider buying the Duo because of Android, but then something got me thinking: I wonder how it will feel like if I only use it as a total Linux machine with AndroNix. That would be seriously interesting.

I did run AndroNix on my LG V50 with DualScreen case and absolutely loving it to bits, so having a permanent dual screen like this Surface Duo might be even better.

Interesting design, would have preferred it than the Fold, however the internal specs are just not worth the price.

As a Surface user, I also really dont know why Microsoft loves the big bezels, had they reduced the forehead and chin that would be a much more modern design.

Guess what no one cares about how much is thin if you put a 3,577 mAh battery in a dual screen device. Losers.

I find it fascinating that people can put so many negative reviews on the phone no one's touched yet. I have touched LG phone are junk that's why they're cheap, you get what you pay for. Samsung flagship overpriced bloatware phones an apple you are married to the software. I'm in no rush for 5G service when new companies are popping up with unlimited internet phone and talk on 4G and I have a 5G phone and the speed isn't this awesome.
Microsoft makes great software an excellent laptop and I'm taking my chances with the phone.

I see that it being thin is more important than design when unfolded, dual screen instead of bending, simple camera instead of competitive set up.
Should learn from Huawei instead of banning, big competition, wait... it wouldn't be even competition.

Leave it to Surface to pull something like this off. Interesting design.
