Along with that comes options for developers who want to tinker with Android devices, as the bootloader can be unlocked with near zero difficulty. Of course there's also the camera and it's AI capability.

Low battery low display only gorilla glass 3 plastic build slow charging capabilities and no memory slot made this phone far worse than last year Redmi Note 8 Pro which cost now under 200.

Hello, I don't know anything about the Google phone(s). Can you please give me a comparison for Google Pixel phones and LG, Samsung Galaxy(s), iPhones etc.
I want to upgrade, have a nice camera, lots of internal storage, dual facing (if possible), speed, screen size, extra storage capability, fast charging, you know just please let me know what you think? Not sure about the price point yet. I just don't want to get another phone in 6 months. Thanks. Signed, Searching.
P.S. Carrier does matter as monthly payments plays a big role in the decision. I'm on a budget.

Some years ago Google said that they plan the camera many, many months before the release, as far as I remember, they said they were already working on the Pixel 3 camera before the Pixel 2 was released. I have the impression that when the Pixel 4 was released, Google already knew 90% of the Pixel 5 camera specs. This might be another reason why Google is so slow. Possibly the Pixel 5 was planned before the Imx 555 existed.

This phone will have a flagship specs except CPU, which is in my opinion a smart choice as there is no big difference in daily tasks performance. The only difference between $1000 phone and Pixel 5 will be wide angle camera, a little better performance and build materials.

The G was designed to be the most affordable 5G handset on the market - other component selections obviously contributed to that end.

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020Uh, it has 5G. That's a big chunk of the price difference.I wonder, as a chip, how much more the 765G cost vs. 730G. I doubt it is close to 150 USD. Bigger screen size and bigger battery and a slightly better chip doesn't justify an almost 50% premium from 349 USD to 499 USD. I am happy with the rumored 4a 5G, just wish it would come with 90hz screen even if it costs another 20-30 USD more.
