Too close. Only the 90hz and RAM set them apart. No one will buy the 5. Either 4A 5G or 5XL.

YUKI93, 24 Aug 2020I do really think that the time has come for Google to start banking on the Quad Bayer sensor.... moreIn my opinion the best choice would have been the Imx 689 Quad Pixel autofocus sensor + telecamera. Google is obsessed with dual pixel autofocus because they use it for portrait depth, although it doesn't work very well. A Quad Pixel sensor like the Imx 689, which has 4 subpixels per microlens (Quad Bayer sensors only have 1 subpixel per microlens), should provide a better depth map than Dual Pixel sensors.
If they really want to include an ultra wide angle camera, I would have chosen a main camera sensor with a higher resolution in order to replace the tele. Then I think the best choice would be a traditional 70mm² Bayer sensor with 40-48 megapixels. Despite the high megapixel count the low light performance would be likely still better than the Imx 363.
A 16 megapixel Quad Pixel sensor like the Omnivision Ov64C could be interesting as well, but it wouldn't be able to replace a tele camera as well as a traditional 70mm² 48 megapixel Bayer sensor.
I think it would be really embarrassing if Google used the Imx 363 again. I have a Pixel 3a and the Imx 363 suffers from a lot of dead pixels, I tried multiple Pixel 3a. There are no dual pixel excuses for Google anymore, they could have used at least the Imx 555.

AlexP, 24 Aug 2020Samsung doesn't have any nice phones anymore. Look note 20, uglyLook is certainly subjective I myself am not fond of Note 20 or Pro just because of sheer size, notch, Exynos etc. but the body design does not bother me all that much - I do not mind boxy design.
It seems this year will be difficult one to chose a phone with the least amount of compromises.

Processor: 4a < 4a 5G = 5
Display size: 4a = 5 < 4a 5G
Refresh rate: 4a = 4a 5G < 5
Camera modules: 4a < 4a 5G = 5
Headphone jack: only 4a, 4a 5G

So, the Pixel 4a 5g will be the pixel 5 lite but it will be bigger. The pixel 5 will be too expensive (again) and in most points alike or worse than the pixel 4 (glad they up the battery though!). The phones will be great, Im quite positive about this, but who are those phones made for? People who would buy the 4a, the 4a 5g and the 5 are the same customers! Google really needs to overthink their target groups.

Anyone still remebers backs of old Samsung phones like S5? Nice, durable, not shiny plastic.
