SNA1970, 24 Aug 2020All glass body needs to disappear. I want Metal body back ...Metal body done with last era of HTC.
Samsung make the note with flat wide screen as iPhone and let see how’s handle the drop test.
SNA1970, 24 Aug 2020All glass body needs to disappear. I want Metal body back ...Metal gets worn out and if it's painted, when dented it looks as horrible as shattered glass. I personally like white glass phones. No fingerprints and even if it's all scratched up scratches are hardly visible even up close.
I actually don't mind plastic phone frames and backs if they are made of solid colored plastic. Meaning, even if it's scuffed, scratched or dented, it's still the same color through entire thickness of plastic. Painted metal or plastic is the worst. Gets worns and scratched and then metal from underneath is poking out. Or a base plastic which is often white... One of reasons why I always take white phones, because they always come with silver aluminium frame. It has finish on aluminium, but even if it gets worn it's hardly visible. Not so much with aluminium coated in black where silver pokes out with the shine of thousand suns.

AnonD-804996, 24 Aug 2020Diamonds are actually quite easy to smash into diamond powder... As for thickness. Sure it mat... moreHehe. That would be crazy if they did.
A shame it cracked, but it's still impressive how that only happened once. The crack did not worsen, the camera module didn't crack, the front panel (the most expensive thing to replace) didn't either... Victus deserves praises and I'm glad this was something I looked forward to when I got my Note20 Ultra.
(Note that obviously, not all phones with Victus will have the same results, depending on design and thickness of the glass. But still, your next high-end device won't be damaged so easily)
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020sapphire is scratch proof and because of that really really hard. Doesn't scratch but it ... moreThe iPhones don't employ sapphire, except on the camera lens. It's still Gorilla Glass.
MrDong, 24 Aug 2020Was just referring to the back.Still logic remains the same.
Actually now it becomes more logical.
Samsung has very curvy edges back glass and iPhone has flat back glass.
IpsDisplay, 24 Aug 2020At what thickness is the arguement I know the general rule is more scratch resistant an obj... moreDiamonds are actually quite easy to smash into diamond powder... As for thickness. Sure it matters, but no phone has 1cm thick sapphir slab on display.
L.O.R.D, 24 Aug 2020There's a Note 20 Ultra drop test been already done before the video in this article, and... moreIt's not official until it's #phonebuffstyle
sapphire is scratch proof and because of that really really hard. Doesn't scratch but it can crack because of its hardness. So a sapphire phone would probably mean it won't scratch but when it falls then it's game over.....
iRajApple, 24 Aug 2020But iPhone cracks with beautiful pattern And all scratches are highly secureSo glad iPhones shatter more tastefully. I'm just hoping they don't shatter at all.
AnonD-754814, 24 Aug 2020You're forgetting that Samsung has edge display and iPhone has flat. So, in this case i... moreWas just referring to the back.
AnonD-804996, 24 Aug 2020Actually isn't. Sapphire, while incredibly scratch resistant is actually very brittle and... moreAt what thickness is the arguement
I know the general rule is more scratch resistant an object is more brittle
But look at diamond....
The glass seems better than the previous gorilla glass but still won't improve sales of Note 20 ultra with Exynos.
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020got. it called sapphire Man Shapphire scratches at lv 8 deeper at lv 9 mohs scale proven by Zac Nelson aka Jerry rigeverything but its durable only versus scratches not real drops on concrete or rough terrain.
On a rough terrain is equal to gorrilla glass.
AnonD-804996, 24 Aug 2020Can't wait the day we invent glass like materials that can't be scratched or shatter... moreMan such materials existu but they are so expensive to made its not worth to try.
Even the material like that with size of a nano sim will cost you thousdants.
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020Good job corning. But why call it GG Victus instead of GG 7?Maybe Victus as Victorious.
So it sounds better than GG 7.
