Heard from XDA Developers hearing issues here and there with 120Hz panels. It's hard to fix.
Aldwin123, 24 Aug 2020Not with Samsung's LTPO Display You mean Samsungs LTPO display
That actually made battery worse in the GsmArena review?

Stop spreading these lies
Without 120hz I will probably not buy the iPhone 12. Once you get used to 120hz it's hard to go back to 60hz. Or the iphone 12 Pro must have some killer features we don't know of yet or a extremely good camera system, maybe than I will switch.
Regular iPhone 12 can miss out this panel and acceptable, but this is the Pro version in this context.
LTPO only exists next year, but Apple could have tried 90Hz despite upping the screen resolution to 1440p.
60Hz is pedestrian and outdated for a device this expensive. Just outdated. Just hope that Apple doesn't increase price for 5G version otherwise Chinese OEMs will beat it quite easily despite rubbish software.
It's absolutely a deal breaker for me, apple used to be king of speed but not anymore if this is true
Its a big turnoff. Will skip the iPhone this year
DragonNF, 24 Aug 2020to people who say they want one hand smaller phones, get an SESE is an extremely conventional phone with tiny battery.
At least 5.4 inch iPhone 12 will exist.
Aldwin123, 24 Aug 2020Not with Samsung's LTPO Display LTPO won't exist until 2021 but Apple should have tried 90Hz. Yeah the screen resolution is upped to 1440p this time, but 60Hz for such a premium flagship is pedestrian. It doesn't matter on the regular iPhone 12, but this is the Pro version. Price difference is also big.
Apple still stuck on 60hz. People will still pay a premium for their phones though. But for how long?
geek-a-contra, 24 Aug 2020i'm already fed with the jockers advocating 120hz screens... for what i'm using it, ... moreThose 120hz panels offer all that.
It would be foolish to assume that 120hz displays don't offer better color accuracy, resolution, etc. The Oppo Find X2 Pro is a prime example of what a premium 120hz panel should be.
It shattered all display records.
So no excuses for sticking to 60hz in the year 2020.
Using 60hz in 2020 is like time travelling back to year 2016.
Well at least those clickbait hype articles about 120hz earned their keep. In the end, Apple has to settle for what they called "boring" 60Hz.

Ripped off exynos chipset year after year for ultra premium price tags.
You'd think that since they have the infrastructure to make their own processors so they aren't reliant on the advancement of the rest of the industry, that they'd also make their own panels, but then again, the r&d would raise the prices of their already expensive phones. But maybe they could just release the 12 and 12 max with the lower refresh rate screens and wait to release the pro series. Or just release them all with a 90hz screen. That would still be a major improvement on the 60hz panels
I hope this is the only issue they face because of the supply aspect. I don't want the new series to have less features than expected.
Awwww.... No 120hz and they are reducing battery size just because of the new Bionic Chip...
And of course same old notch
Anonymous, 24 Aug 2020120hz just a waste of battery anyway. its good for gaming ON A PCNot with Samsung's LTPO Display
The kind of rabid fanboys who buy iPhones buy them as a fashion accessory. They don't care how much they suck as smartphones. They need that picture of a half eaten apple so people will know they're cool 😂
