Anonymous, 25 Aug 2020OnePlus said months ago it is not defect, but nature of oled. This tech is a big failure. ... moreMini led LCD is ready for small factor now

Oled is bad technology but people are too attached to oled to see the truth

As for microled LCD will once again save the day with LCD -micro led hybrid where the micro led will be used in an LCD backlight for better local dimming zones

And it will be cheaper too

When I look at all the plans coming for LCD I am shocked that people in their hearts think it is old and outdated technology

Maybe because they are uninformed or just don't know any better

And again these people will see LCD with new names like dual cell, Qned and they are gonna love them and not even realize they are LCD technologies

Vote with your wallet.

If you are a resident in their 2nd-Tier Fail Exynos models' list of countires, then you shouldn't even consider any Samsung phones. If you are able to purchase the SD versions, then raise a stink about the defective devices and don't let this become the new norm.

It's bout time we start reminding these arrogant, bloated conglomerates that we customers are the ones who allow them to cash their paychecks in. Don't settle for overpriced low quality garbage!

This immediately takes me back to the gluegate issue on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s, LCD technology certainly isn’t dead and still has its uses and for a majority of people wouldn’t even know the difference.

I haven't bought a new phone for 5 years and now i am a bit confused. How common is this problem with OLED screens?
I want a mid-range phone, released in 2020 (with android 10), GMS, FHD+, for the European market, between 180€ - 290€ and should get at least two years of major Android updates. I am considering one of the following phones that meet these criteria:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version), Mi Note 10 Lite (but hasn't got the Google ARCore support yet), Mi 10 Lite (765G+5G), Samsung Galaxy A41 and Galaxy A51.
Now because of that green tint problem, should i better pick a LC Display? This would make the Redmi Note 9 Pro my only choice. But as far as i heard, Note 9 Pro's Display is on the lower side of display quality... :/

Besides this tinting problem happens at extremely low level of brightness. Levels most people don't use their phone at.

Even at 240Hz you don't face this issue, so it must be software or firmware. Maybe the silicon controlling the display is defective, who knows. Might be a design flaw of the controller.

A reason not to jump into the 120Hz panel bandwagon too quickly. 60Hz panels may suffer from tinting issues as well, but they're usually easier to amend.
