NotAmused, 30 Aug 2020Google owns firefox. It explains the horrid update. Its killing off firefox via social engineering. They're doing the same with Waze. It's really disgusting.
Absolute crap.
I Just rolled my android version back to 68.1.1
You then have to set googleplay to not auto-update as firefox lets the playstore decide if it auto updates or not.
Just get the apk and install it. Once you download it you have it for good unless you delete it, so if you accidentally update or you try a new update and don't like it, you can just uninstall Firefox and reinstall the apk
Yeah, this piece of crap is unusable.
The only words I can use is that latest upgrade was a complete disaster!
Who in the world might even think that this would work?
I have been using firefox for many years on both android, and windows. After the latest forced upgrade to my android tablet I have never experienced such a lousy piece of software. I just had to uninstall it and will never use firefox ever again. That was disgraceful.
very annoying update- I've finally made Chrome my default browser after resisting for so long.
Firefox update made me cry.
firefox forced the update to 80 when i had little time to deal with a crappy app. like everyone else says, this app sucks. i recommend getting adblock browser. out of the box it is quick and hardly an ad. opera is another good alternative. sorry firefox it was fun while it lasted. i was a first version beta tester. ever since ff implemented the inability to reverse to previous version i started thinking about leaving. i gave them a chance.
Way to go Firefox. You have slowed down my day trying to figure out how to use your damn ass update. So I've decided to eliminate it altogether. It was fun while it lasted
Iris, 31 Aug 2020I've given it 24 hours, and it's a POS. No ability to open an internal html address,... moreI couldn't agree more
Dieselhead, 29 Aug 2020Not one member in the family like the latest version of firefox on our phone it used to be so ... moreI don't think you should wait. I recommend you to stick with the old version or switch to bromite browser.

No ability to open an internal html address, no access to about:config, no back or forward buttons, can't remember my instruction to use desktop formatting, only about a dozen compatible addons. No tabs at the top of the window, and when you click on the tabs number you get a list of tabs that occupies almost the entie window. So you can't easily click between open tabs. Way to go, Mozilla! Ruined a browser that I have been using for over two decades!
Absolute RUBBISH !!! - Why can they not leave things alone - If its not broke, do ty to fix it !!!
I hated this update too, so I rolled my eyes and went to go back to the previous version....except Mozilla says you can't. That four-letter word makes my blood simmer when it's coming from a developer that has unilaterally decided to break something I was using, and not provide a way to undo it. So I directly uninstalled Firefox, and replaced it with the last good version, which was version 68. Here's how, step by step:
1. Download and install Aptoide (it's a Google Play Store alternative. This is optional, but I doubt Play Store would have the old versions of android).
2. Backup your shit if you need to.
3. Uninstall Firefox.
4. Open Aptoide and search for Firefox. Click on Firefox Browser. Look for a box that says "Other versions." Click it, and select the most recent version that starts with 68.
5. Profit????
6. Have yourself a good laugh at Mozilla telling you that you "can't" do things with open-source software in a free web.
