Also the specs mention 24-bit/192khz audio so I'm guessing the phone has inbuilt DAC, so an analog converter should work just fine. Not an audiophile so won't comment much, but I'm pretty sure a hi-res certified dongle from a reputed brand would work as good (they should have bundled one like they did with Rog Phone 3, maybe they will depending on the country).

This is a CHOICE by these companies and I will never buy a phone without the headphone jack.

Anders, 26 Aug 2020Ok fair enough then. They're are many, many people who prefer wired audio. And it costs l... moreIt costs 50 cents to buy an adapter and keep it attached to your earphones (OK it does cost more than 50 cents but same is true for the integrated one). The headphone jack, unlike a larger battery, is modular. You can add support for jack with an adapter, same is not true for battery. Same is also not true for storage, until unless you have support for micro sd (which Zenfone 7 has). Also, the other thing that takes space is a moving triple camera with OIS, an integrated camera setup takes significantly less space. And you might argue that many would prefer a headphone jack over triple slots and a flipping camera, and that's totally fine and you have many options out there. I'm pretty sure the 3rd camera is not a gimmick either, since no one puts an OIS in gimmick. I don't think Asus has any profit in removing the jack, since they don't sell wireless earphones (yet). So the tradeoff is reasonable. And hi-res USB C to 3.5mm adapters don't cost that much, and you can literally attach it to your favorite headphones and forget about them. Some might argue that you can't use them while charging the phone, but it takes half an hour to charge the phone 60% and the phone will last a full day. Unless you're one of the few who uses earphones the whole day, you're not gonna have the problem.
[deleted post]The Zenfone 7 charges fully in an hour, and maybe an extra 5 to 10 minutes. Why keep it charging for 7 to 8 hours while listening to music for that long? You're getting 5Ah battery that will last you 2 days on listening to music. Why complain? If you want a jack, go for some other midrange instead. Or maybe LG's phones are an option. I'm sure you wouldn't mind shelling out over $700 on LG's flagship.

And it costs like 50 cents to include one in a phone so there is absolutely no reason to not have one. It doesn't take much space either as that's one of the weak defences some people use.
There is no one who will refuse to buy a phone because it DOES have a headphone jack but there are lots of people who will refuse to buy one because it DOESN'T have one. So it's an illogical business decision.
For the price this is going to launch in Europe you can get the Samsung S20 5G, and gain ip68, wireless charging and 3 years of OS updates. If I was going to buy a phone without a headphone (which I'm not) I'd get that over this Asus

2. You should do more research about the updates they provide on Zenfone 5z and 6z before making false claims
3. Zenfone 6, 6+128 was launched in India for ₹32000 (13,900 Taiwanese dollar). The same launched for 17990 Taiwanese Dollar in Taiwan (That's ₹45k).
Even considering the increased GST, it's gonna be priced competitively in India. My guess is the Vanilla variant could be in the range of 35-45k, and less than the price of Rog Phone 3 for sure. The pro version might cost more or less.
I was going to buy one until they removed the headphone jack. goodbye.

This is why samsung does not make oled TVs. Because ppl keep TVs for years while many get new phone every 12-24 months.
This Display without notch or punch hole is great! But why again Amoled at FHD like all the others?
Amoled at FHD --> bad because of pentile matrix
LCD at FHD --> good
Amoled at 1440p --> good as well, because the disadvantages of pentile matrix are less perceptible.
I think they decided to skip on the headphone jack for the faster charging tech. Or maybe they decided that the jack wasn't worth it. But fret not people... You can get an adapter off amazon for like $5 - 10.

This Oled technology is the best thing that could have happen to phone companies.
Screen pixels get exhausted over time so people will buy new phone. More money for companies.
Luxury > reliability for people that love OLED and wanna spend more money (and companies love that)
Reliability > Luxury for people that love LCD and prefer to save money. (but companies dont like that to much, thats why no low amount of new LCD phones.
So asus max pro buds plus are not announced with this headfone jack less phone, I'm so disappointed.
How asus will milk money now

Only selling point are the rotating Cams...will probably fing No takers in India....if it launches...
I have used the Zen6 full time for a year and I love it. 2 Sim cards are a must for me though. I live everything about the 6 and looking forward to the advancements of the 7. I broke my screen about 8 months in and the phone has not skipped a beat. I love video taking while looking down at my phone and setting the camera angle at whatever I like. Allows me to video my kid playing sports and they don't have to feel self conscious because it just looks like I am texting. Great phone and I highly recommend. Can't wait to see how the line progresses.

Even if you don't think you'd use it often, dark mode is now becoming much more popular, and OLEDs can definitely benefit a lot from this, and sure enough pitch black is better than bluish-blooming blacks for that matter.
Sure, there's absolutely no problem at all with IPS, but neither are there any with OLEDs (assuming it is a great quality one), but OLEDs have a lot of advantages that most people would care about, so it's definitely a must for high end phones to have that type of display as one of their biggest selling points.
