I know ASUS is a Taiwanese company but does anyone know exactly which country the new ASUS ZenFone 7 is produced / assembled in? I try to be an "ethical consumer" ( :

This ISN'T an opinion, note the use of the word "will" rather than "might/can", this is a statement, which is FALSE and participate to the totally unjustified negative image of pop up, which is due, only to those totally false claims.

Why does since few month, everyone call everything an "opinion" ? (Serious question)
Peoples making statements, exemples and facts are suddenly all considered as opinions.
It look like a collection/social mass behavior that I am not affected by because of my autism, but I find it weird, if you look a year ago, the word "opinion" was clearly far less used and facts or wrong statements and exemples were considered as such, not as opinion, have you noticed it now that I mention it ?

Anyway, the phone is gorgeous for price like this. Hopefully more vendors will release similar beautiful craftsman phones with lower prices.

You talk about vibration motor which you have never seen breaking, but have you even seen a non abused pop up/flip mechanism broken ?
There are almost no report of broken pop up and other moving camera to be found on internet after 2 years of existence and multiple models, including cheap ones, definitely proving those are actually strong, they are in fact stronger than the display, the chips and the battery which DO wear too and there are lots of reports about that, not only making the idea of keeping the phone indefinitely and thinking that only the moving camera will break totally stupid, but also, unlikes those KEY components, if the moving camera break, it isn't a big deal, you can still use the phone, at worse you loose selfie capability, which is still way better than a dead phone.

And after 2 years, we finally saw what issue dust cause, it simply can jam the mechanism that can then be unblocked with a simple use of the calibration tool, which fix the issue for basically another year or so, definitely proving the dust argument doesn't hold any validity, same for water that multiple models with pop up proved to be more than resistant enough to so they can survive accidental fall and spill over.
On top of that, this particular mechanism bay is literally open, you can manually clean it.

All those pop up myth about its fragility, issue with dust and other imaginary things that actually almost never in real life need to stop !
This is because of BS like that that peoples got scared for nothing about the pop up that it isn't more popular, and considering that it is the only current available solution (along with second display on the back which is even more rare) that provide privacy, and that privacy can LITERALLY BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH :

You peoples with your fearmongering talks about pop up fragility seriously need to look up at FACTS before spreading those lies, it is tiresome to see all of you always bringing up those arguments just because you read them somewhere else and didn't even took few minutes to check if it is indeed or not an issue.

A nice implementation except the bay for this camera will invariably get filled with dust, sand and other particles and all this mechanism will sooner or later break. I just don't want any moving parts in my smartphone (sans for the vibration motor which I've never seen fail).
