if it really is like that, with physical volume buttons and 3.5mm headphone jack(even tho is on the top of the phone) I will feel glad for waiting instead of buying the Mate 30.

My biggest concern is now mostly about the google services if we will still be able to install it and for how long it will be working without Google interrupting it.

hope to see some notification led

Dometalican, 28 Aug 2020Sony didn't have a 40MP sensor until they made it for Huawei. You don't think Sony, ... moreU got a point there. As for me, if they enroute with those 108mp sensor, its a downgrade from their current 50mp.

And yes, camera are one of the most important parts for me when picking up smartphone. I always go for flagship, and for that amount of money, flagship grade camera is needed.

This will just spark more R&D. Might take few years, but it will be better for us as consumers. Anyone who is cheering for Huawei to go underground is "digging his own grave" product wise.

If one method stops working, there will be others and Huawei and Google won't bother to patch that because neither of them wanted this ban.

Shui8, 28 Aug 2020Lol they did all out with P40 camera. Bigger sensor & bigger pixel size already than the 1... moreSony didn't have a 40MP sensor until they made it for Huawei. You don't think Sony, a well-known partner with Huawei, wouldn't be willing to make that behemoth of a sensor for Huawei as a debut for that kind of resolution?

I'm not saying the P40 series' 50MP is a slouch but it wouldn't be far off to think Sony would make Huawei this sensor along with maybe wide-angling the 50MP sensor for Huawei since the last couple Mate phones have been released with custom Sony sensors no other non-Huawei phone has touched since those releases.

Do I care that much? No as Camera is not even on my top 6 of important hardware in a smartphone but I wouldn't put it past this uber profitable company to ask Sony to make this.

Bigger sensor & bigger pixel size already than the 108mp sensor. It all end up using 12mp pixel binned anyway, where the 50mp pixel size bigger than 108mp one. Dont believe the marketing hype on the resolution number. Besides, all 108mp are Samsung Isocell module, whereas Sony doesnt have, which is main supplier for Huawei.

saddameu, 27 Aug 2020you know what's funny about those who say they dont buy it because it doesn't have g... moreYes but those methods could not work in the future, why would someone take risks and buy a 1000$ phone without google play services with all the competition going on, for 200, 300, 400 $ maybe but for 1000$ people want to have the best experience, (ps : I surely prefer the p40 vanilla over the note 20 even without gms and for the same price)
With these methods you will not have peace, because if you will worry a lot if those methods are future proof, but If people don't care about gms then that's okey, and some people may prefer not having gms, to make the phone lighter from background process and tracking.....
It's simple if you can live without gms then go for them, otherwise better looking at the competition and comparing if they are worse or better and then deciding
Because we are not 100% if all these methods of sideloading gms is a TRUE fully working solution that can last forever, that's my opinion, BTW I also love huawei not as muxh as xiaomi but yes they are also very good and I support them
