                  1) When phone manufacturers drop 3.5mm jack on their phones, you need a dongle to use it. (See flagships)
                  2) You can use wireless earpieces without wires that will get tangled up or restrict your movements.
                  3) You get more features on wireless earpieces like ambient sound.

                      After I lost my original Buds, I used the original AKG-branded earphones that came in my S20+'s case. Sure, they sound good, very good, actually, but that WIRE annoys me so much. Earphones almost fall off when running and they always get tangled.

                        In conclusion, having a WIRED headphone with 3.5mm jack JUST WORKS CONVENIENTLY out of the box.
                        No software needed :D

                            Got the Buds+ this week after losing my original Buds, really loving them & glad I didn't get the Buds Live! They work flawlessly with my S20+.
