Asus sold 2 million smartphones in 2019, less than Sony which sold 3 million smartphones in 2019. 2020 will be the year Asus will struggle to reach the 1 million sales mark. ROG 3 will sell less than ROG 2, since the initial response from its primary market, the Chinese Market, is way below that of ROG 2. (More than 65% of world wide sale of ROG 2 was from this primary market.)
Will Zenfone 7 series help Asus to make the 1 million sales mark? Lets hope it will, although a good response from this site probably will not contribute directly to any significant sales.

It doesn't matter if it was 'partly designed' by the Chinese. The only thing matters is that people don't want their data to be sent to China, or give a monopoly to Chinese brands. It's possible that Zenfone 3 to Zenfone 5 were actually made in China, but only designed Asus, since it was a time when Asus shifted from Intel processors to Qualcomm Snapdragon, so it might have been difficult for them to adapt to it and decided to outsource it. And I don't get the Chinese launcher part, was it only the launcher that was made in China or it had Chinese language? How do you even verify if it's a Chinese launcher?
Anyways it's clear you're a proud Chinese Anon and don't recognise Taiwan as an independent nation.

It is owned by lenovo, and manufactured by chinese. But it is designed by americans in america, lenovo only has to accept projects made by said americans.

Pre-Zenfone 5 were not only manufactured but partly designed, where ODM are involved and vendor just slam on their badge, you would call yourself a proud owner of 'x' company's product? I don't think so not to say Asus did that, but really read the entire comment. Ahh, good example you use Apple. Not only they have their own custom SoC, they design it ground up with a closed OS and can even tell the OEMs to dance like Cinderella around them... The two literally are miles off as a phone vendor.
Now, you can stop being a sensitive ass like good majority of Chinese. What I think of Taiwan is irrelevant, but since I am talking about country to country level here, give me the number of country recognizing Taiwan as a country? Even with the given political situation tension between China and US, where US want to leverage off Taiwan, it still hasn't recognize Taiwan officially as a country. Not even Czech, despite going to visiting the country. Not a Single EU country to my collection, recognize Taiwan as a country. So tell me, which country does not see it that way?

Water cheap prices? I wanted the 256GB version but it wasn't available. So I'm getting the zf7 pro within 3 to 5 months after launch because... custom roms... Won't upgrade until 5 years are over. Unless ofc ww3 doesn't start by then...

So, using your logic, iPhone is chinese products? and samsung phones is vietnam products since assembled in vietnam or called chinese products? bcause some of their parts are made in china? that subcontract practice are common in industry, that's what we called contract manufacturing like OEM/ODM

Asus Zenfone 3 though out 5 are manufactured and partly design by vendor in China, and their software was also contracted to China, including the launcher. Though after Naught, Asus has being increasingly removing the extra software which is good, but under these conditions, would you still call it a Taiwanese products?

I voted "Neither is the phone for me" because of the lack of 3.5mm Jack, lack of high resolution ToF scanner who would have been useful for both photography and 3D facial recognition, the Telephoto have nothing to do in a flip camera (and it is under 12Mp), more camera along with it should have been put on the body, under the flip camera, allowing for a periscope Telephoto and also 12Mp+ Macro and 12Mp+ Portrait camera.
Also side FPS aren't the best as they see only a thin part of the finger, with a thicker phone it would make more senses, I would have preferred something like the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max.
Sound like a great phone that could fit many users, but it isn't for me.
