jamalu96, 28 Aug 2020Sony had the 120hz panels from 2017. But they never enabled it.As good as not having.
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020Where are those sonyfans who said "120 Hz is useless and drains much battery" ?
120 hz is useless and drains too much battery.
I intend to buy this phone and turn off that useless power draining feature, will have great batterylife.

jamalu96, 28 Aug 2020Sony had the 120hz panels from 2017. But they never enabled it.That's sweet what a nice example of a waste and ignorance by Sony - we have 120Hz but you can't use them, how cares if you are fine with higher battery drain.
It's Sony way, I have spoken.

Smithravi, 28 Aug 2020Not everyone likes ugly notches and punch holes.I literally hate those - could be my "OCD", but damn destroing such a nice screen...
IMHO Sony solution is certainly more acceptable due to full screen and decent stereo speakers added to the mix.
Aspros, 28 Aug 2020How sad, Sony is unable to make a bazeless phone, not even one... > "bazeless"
1) There is no such word in English language.
2) Being "bezelless" is not necessary for a smartphone, after all, it's not a monitor. First priority should be convenience as you will hold it with your hands.

They will come up with some nonsense reason why, don't you worry about that.
If I would buy Xperia 5 II (33,3% chance right now), I would disable 120Hz and never look back ... for me every drop of battery has more meaning than fluid scrolling + I only play mobile games intended for a touchscreen ;)
Looks very intriguing, can't wait for the full details to be revealed.
What an interesting phone. Normal size (although not compact), flagship specs, headphone jack. If the price is right it will be awesome.
To bad it's 158mm tall..

2) Sony do not do night shot on any of theirs smartphones. Ofcourse it's software, that's where GCam would come in handy if some developer would even care porting it for a Sony phone.
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020Too late, people don't want to buy 865 at the end of this yearDoesn't it depend on the price? If it's the equivalent of 865+ or the next one, then no. But if the price is right, only an idiot wouldn't want to buy a flagship processor that the 865 is.

Is this the supposed "compact" Sony device?
Yeah, right, with 6+ inches, you can use it as a shovel for your gardening work.
What a joke.
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020Where are those sonyfans who said "120 Hz is useless and drains much battery" ? 120Hz FHD is still useless for people who bought 4K 60Hz. Sony is bringing this only to satisfy people who are blind folded by Chinese firms.
