Not sure if that w... moreActually this is one of the alternative design I am exploring, but rather than being outside, it would be inside the phone, meaning the mechanism would literally include a part of the display, but still under the protecting glass, meaning no water/dust concern.
The mechanism would "pull in" the upper part of the display while the cameras module get also "retracted" from the inner body, and it rotate 180°.
It wouldn't include all camera, telephoto and macro for exemple doesn't have any logic to be moved in the front, so one horizontal line with : main sensor, wide/ultrawide and ToF that would by able to rotate.
And bellow : portrait, macro and telephoto, allowing them to be periscope as they each have advantages to be taken with longer lenses configuration and optical magnification.
I guess Samsung X600 was the first phone with rotating camera back in 2003 (When i was 10 :p ). Although it was not a motorized mechanism.
Imagine doing this kind of camera rotating mechanism on a bezelless screen. Not sure if that would work well.
