Where midrange SOC's typically suffer is modems and GPU performance. For power users wanting multiple displays to perform work duties, or entertainment focused users looking at gaming both of theses downfall areas can be very important. Even when we are looking at doing more streaming type content gpu decoding, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular latency becomes big deals and all in all a 800 series SOC provides a smoother experience. Add to that perceived value. How many people say more than $700 is way to much for a device. Those of us willing to purchase $1000 + devices or wanting the early adopter type devices usually are enthusiasts seeking top teir, or those just wanting zero compromises devices.

LG has superb ideas. But their implementation, very often, especially from a design perspective, is a monumental disaster. This is ine such disaster. LG should have concentrated on making a foldable (apart from the dual screen phones) and offering something the others did not.
LG needs a head a of Design.
