Shanti Dope, 30 Aug 2020And as a Sony user, it's no longer your business when others are simply telling the truth... moreOh so you are finally a Sony user? Which model did you get?
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020Haters that envy the 4K screen (and will brag about when Samsung and chineses adopt) say it is... moreHello, only Sony users are demanding Sony to unlock the 120 Hz mode. Non-users couldn't care less. We just cannot stand people like you who keep repeating that Sony had 120 Hz before anyone else, but what good is that when it is not usable?
[deleted post]Why would it be useless if it's essentially a toned down version of the main boy Xperia 1 II?
Obviously it's gonna be cheaper since it's a slightly inferior device, but you could be dreaming of half the price in the next 3 years or so.
Basically, this is just the smaller version (not a compact phone) of the big 1 II catered for those who want the 1 II but in a smaller footprint.
[deleted post]And as a Sony user, it's no longer your business when others are simply telling the truth.
Sony phones really do offer a lot of unique things that can't be found on other phones, and in this particular case with the Mark II generation of their Xperia 1 and 5, there's almost absolutely no compromise at all in terms of overall package.
Yeah they're not the best at everything, but they're the best at offering very good individual aspects of the phone. You just can't find a major flaw from their flagship phones, at least for this year's.
I mean sure the high refresh rate is missing, but it's not like the end of the world because of it, and high frame rate contents aren't even that widely available as of today yet.
Other than that, all other complaints are just so minimal and can be fixed by something called "personalization" by the user.
The amount of support for Xperia phones is just as much as the amount of hate towards them, and no need to be so toxic towards those who are praising them for what they are, because they really do deserve the acknowledgements as much as every other else do.
Haters that envy the 4K screen (and will brag about when Samsung and chineses adopt) say it is too power hungry, but demand sony to unlock the 1080@120 mode that will use even more power. That is funny.
S20+, OP8 Pro and Find X2 even set 3K@60 already use more power than 1ii per minute while doing same tasks using same brightness.
Their 120 modes are even worse.
Then ppl that 3 years ago could spend a day with 3200 mAh easily and today manage to spend 4500mAh before 6 p.m , will cry out loud.

Syuser, 30 Aug 2020Nothing more true! Sony Xperia it's the best among reliable devices and the most usable. ... moreHahaha how long has Sony Xperia existed? And you have already gone through more than 20 of them. Speaks volumes about their durability.
Stop calling it a compact flagship because it is not compact. 158 cm is taller than my current phone, which I find too big already.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020To be used by those that want smaller phone than xperia 1ii, also ppl that do not feel need to... moreOkay I see.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020Trolling much? Well, it is smaller than 1 ii and offers higher refresh rate. So the custom... moreIt just seemed useless to make this phone unless it would be at least half price.

There is no way Sont charges less than $900.
Probably will be $950-1000.
If 1ii was same price of 20+, this one might be about 1000 just like s20.
Bud, 30 Aug 2020Sony said in another post elsewhere, that the days of high-priced phones (more than 1000,- buc... moreIt will cost 900
Sony said in another post elsewhere, that the days of high-priced phones (more than 1000,- bucks) are counted und people are focusing more on mid-range devices. This is proven on analytics they made. If they consider prices of the competition and manage to adapt on the 5 II , 700,-/800,- would be a statement and this piece would sell like butterbrezel (google it). Also they would be a mayor player again. My coins would be safe for them
Dan, 30 Aug 2020But these Chinese phones are trash. Can't compare with Sony. Sony is more reliable has b... moreNothing more true! Sony Xperia it's the best among reliable devices and the most usable. Pure Android also! My over 20 still working devices Xperia is a real proof!
If current Xperia naming is weird, then I don't have a word to describe naming of others manufacturers.
[deleted post]Well... it's not really a garbage OS if it's user can maximize it. Also the same with Android.
Drew-404, 30 Aug 2020Be smart Sony on your pricing and don’t Ober Price the phone I ain't complaining that much, and I'm not the only one who think the same way.

Hanif Fikri, 30 Aug 2020Meanwhile Poco F2 SD865 pro now only 400$ here while this new Sony Xperia 5 ii could be 800$+.... moreBecause their products are definitely not made of cheap components, and they are giving their laborers the proper wage that they deserve.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020This +1
Too tall, too expensive and 5G is meh.Too tall? The 1 II is exactly the same height as the S20 Ultra, but much slimmer. Better for one hand grip.
11 Pro Max is slightly shorter, but significantly wider, which is not ideal for one-handed usability.
All flagships with high-grade components are all costly, and who said this phone doesn't support 5G? Well it doesn't support all, but doesn't mean it's non-existent.
Sure enough, you'd be paying that ridiculous amount for a phone that doesn't even have a jack at such price.
