Shab, 02 Sep 2020Dear my z5 premium also having a problem with headphone jack. What should I do?to make it clear the headphone jack on my z5 premium has no problem since i did not update it when i heard about the problem... but accdg to some users, they use the "soundabout" app... others reset their phone to erase all "residue" of the past updates... hope yours will be fixed, unless you are okay with wireless audio...

Buying sony mobiles is Wasting money, better go for xiaomi, samsung, huawei, one plus, Apple
because sony devices availability are less., not much service centers,
& as they update new o/s you loose many features then comes with bugs & nowhere solutions found, as they dont care.

Who even cares about a phone if your selfie camera is THAT basic!? 🤷‍♀️ Don't most people take pictures of themselves for instaFaceToc?!?!

This seems to be a reoccurring pattern with Sony, so wouldn't really be surprised.

I wonder how many updates/bugs will Xperia 1/5 recieve - those are 1yo devices, so let us observe, where the support for "modern" Sony phone ends.
So far the latest update broke promimity sensor ... nothing major, righ? Only the thing that is used, when you take PHONE call on a PHONE ...

i stopped updating my z5 premium when problems on headphone jack surfaced... that is why i am not really a fan of updates, thus makes me consider lg phones despite weak updates, because their audio and camera capabilities are great...

Unlike Samsung, Sony's way is: "buy a new Xperia 1 II or newer flagship for the extended support, because we didn't support old harware".
But well, let's see if Sony doesn't lie this time.

But they didn't. You can not count original software as update. That's nonsense. So, if they couldn't develop two extra OS version for that phone, why would anyone believe them that they will develop 3 more versions this time around. I don't. They have to prove themselves first. I'll believe it when i see it.

They better be! As flagship keep getting expensive and soon the >1000 dollar become a norm. Make customers spend 1000 and only give service support for almost 2 years is joke

XZ1 shares same platform Yoshino with XZ Premium, it means same updates and firmware has same build number. There was zero chance xz1 getting 10.
They say 24 months of support, not 2 versions of android. Usually flagships get 30 months.

                                    Z, Z1 = 5.1
                                    Z2, Z3 = 6.0

Sony XZ1 (flagship) series got only one mayor version upgrade (after Sony have promised two upgrades) so I don't trust them anymore. But, if it does happen, that would be great for customers. I hope every OEM will follow soon.
