It's likely because the GPS antenna is built into the band so when you are wearing it on your wrist it interferes with its operation. I know because I tested (at Huami's request) using this watch while wearing it and always while just holding it in my hand and the results are staggering. When wearing the watch, the GPS is garbage. When I take it off and hold it, the route tracking and distance recorded are almost perfect.
It's just a poorly designed product that went through zero testing before it was released on Indiegogo, a platform that offers zero consumer protection.
Recieved mine yesterday. It's in a boot loop since I've opened the box... anyone had the same problem? Any solution?
Waiting for response from huami
Is it only me. My Amazefit X displays the weather temperature in Celsius and I cannot find a way to change it to Fahrenheit, either on the watch or in the Android app.
serval, 09 Oct 2020I got mine 3 days ago and have exercised with it, slept with it on, etc. It seems to be pretty... moreI've had the watch for a week now. It's on firmware 1.0.1.30. Here are some observations:
1. Battery life is terrible. I get about 2.5-3.5 days if I don't track any exercise. It drains 1.25% per hour and GPS use seems to drain it about 7-15% per hour depending on whether or not it can maintain a GPS signal.
2. GPS is horrendously off. I did a short 7.75km hike which my Polar watch and phone tracked about the same. The watch said I hiked 11.01km making it 43% off. It also said my average stride was 1 yard long, which it wasn't since I was walking.
3. Sleep tracking is spotty at best. It seems to track night-time sleep OK but it doesn't track naps at all. I took a 35 min nap and it had no idea.
This definitely feels like a beta product. The hardware itself is quite beautiful, but the onboard features are poor. The Zeep software should be better as well.

Nothing beats reading messages on the large, bright, saturated display. Very comfortable to wear, due to the curvature and light weight.
The software is what I'd call an early Beta. For example, sleep tracking works for me only intermittently.
If they continue quickly pushing out much-needed software updates, this will be a game-changing wearable. If not, this won't be usable.
I got mine 3 days ago and have exercised with it, slept with it on, etc. It seems to be pretty accurate regarding heart rate, steps and sleep tracking (I'm comparing it to a Fitbit Charge 3, which I'm wearing at the same time, on the same wrist). However, the distance calculation when running or walking is way off (over-counts by a lot). Perhaps it needs a calibration system for individual steps (like most other bands have)? I calibrated the Charge 3 and it is very accurate. The only other complaints are 1) the battery life is very short (it was down to 65% after one day's use), and 2) I really am annoyed by the data showing on the Workout screen. I want to see HR, steps, pace, time, calories, but it shows some other useless data that I can't use. I wrote them about this.

I dont have usability problems yet (good scrolling, no freezes etc) and battery is fine, too (3 - 4 days with all features active including permanent tracking even at night).
But there sure as hell is a some work to do with the tracking. Spotty GPS, heart rate and especially SpO2 (which is marked as beta, but hardly works at all). They explicitly advertise this for permanent tracking + sport tracking, and this is just not satisfying yet. I would be pissed, if i would have spend 300+ $ for this, despite the awesome optics. Lets just hope they keep on pushing updates to make this thing reliable according to its current price tag.
I have had mine for about a week, there are minor niggles, mostly with the app (Zepp) which is a surprise because it should be quite mature by now but the watch GPS simply doesn't work (well, if I take it off my wrist it might get a gps lock but if I move it's gone) and the support is atrocious (slow if any response and not seeing signs of forward progress). although on the campaign (which is getting a lot of negativity, they have made a mess of this) they are admitting their support is overwhelmed but they do not seem to be able to say "yes we know we have a problem we will sort it out".
I'm really disappointed, it's a great looking device and fundamentally appears to work but one of the basic functions of a smart watch, the activity tracking, doesn't work.

Interested to know if it can do blood pressure to some extent. I'd like to get a smart band that includes it. Not much out there for it.
