It's simply companies unlocking full potential of the chip.
Not cheating really. They literally developed their own benchmark just so that they could get Apple Ax series chips to score ahead of other phones when in real world performance they are getting trumped by 500$ smartphones.

Too bad supply is relatively low for the dimensity... moreThe 765G is not weak. The Dimensity 820 has around on the same level performance(**).
The 765G uses the newest ARM instruction set, in comparison to the 820 that uses an older one. The 765G has a better ISP controller (for better video&pictures). The SD's Adreno 620 is ~20% better than the Mali G-57 MP6 (search for "SpeedTest G" on Youtube). It supports more more 4G bands. Can support UFS 3.0 instead of UFS 2.1.
The only two things that are better on the Dimensity, are the two extra Cortex-A76 big cores (4+4), but that makes it less battery efficient to the 765G. And the support for Bluetooth 5.1 (5.0 on the SD).

That model number indicates that the phone is definitely powered by a MediaTek Dimensity SOC and not a Snapdragon. Looks like Xiaomi found a solution to limiting people from modding their phones by releasing phones with MTK chips :)

I hope they can maintain the price bucket of Redmi Note series as usual.
And don't hope for amoled, redmi note series are never intended to use that to keep the price low enough.
Besides, have you heard about how hard it's to find replacement of OEM amoled that is compatible? Especially those with the in display fingerprint reader? Good luck with that when you get you screen cracked.
