vrvly, 07 Sep 2020Could use also 3x3 with white cross or more ridiculous pattern for xy% more light but no color... moreAnd worse colour accuracy than samsung and apple combined.
Anyway, if ppl cared about colour accuracy they would not use HDR anyway.

Poc Poc Poco, 07 Sep 2020Poco x3 will destroy vivo. Poco is better than Vivo I thinkNo hate but BBK Electronics owns Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus & Realme!
It's a bit funny whenever I see someone say that one of these companies will destroy it's siblings! XD

Could use also 3x3 with white cross or more ridiculous pattern for xy% more light but no color binning, removable ir+uv filter for 150% more light on top, ryyb for additional xz%. End result would be awesome.
And no filter(full spectrum) + raw for hi res astrophotography. Cannot wait.

Fearghast, 07 Sep 2020I love the irony how we all despise RGBW on LG TVs :D but for photography it can be viable solution.Considering wrgb screen is brighter and can easily lead to wrong colour accuracy.
Xperia P had way worse screen performance than other xperia because of white pixel.

Hmmm so Vivo can carry the torch for Huawei's camera prowess as they go down from the pressure of the US

                Seems like a hydra effect

Wrong. Sony had monochrome (no bayer filter), not WRGB. Sony semicon has 2 or 3 sensor.

Something else, OEMs order the kindof sensor they want. They do not design one.
You need imaging division for it.
Not easy task like design cpu that any OEM can do and pay samsung or tsmc to manufacturer.
