Microsoft working on a budget 12.5-inch Surface laptop with 10th gen Intel CPU Comments

I write this on my 6 years old iPad Air 2 while on a train journey. After 2 hours and 40 minutes I have created 7 slides on Pages app for my job next week including two slides with graphs and a table, and the rest with text boxes and pictures ( took me about 1 hour), I read something interesting I found on line about an hour, browsed the internet a bit now I am here writing this comment. So far the battery has dropped by 27% with 70% brightness for 1 hour 30 minutes ( then reduced to 45%) because it was sunny when I started my journey.
And I am wondering how a pc would be better than an iPad? I can do all my work and there is no need to carry a laptop which is a lot more difficult to work with because of its weight, not only to carry it around but having it for hours on my laps. And not sure if a laptop as old as my iPad could give me such a long battery life. My iPad is a trooper and still serves me so well, I only use my pc occasionally but for me no pc can replace an iPad! Way more useful in more situations than a pc.

Even If you're just browsing, checking mails, watching movies, I'd prefer a Windows based Laptop, Notebook, Tablet or PC simply because it is superior and most people prefer Windows. End of conversation.

4GB RAM / 64GB ROM doesn't really cut it in 2020. And at $600 this is not really a budget laptop. Spend an extra $200 and get something worth your money.

Windows is the OS of choice on PC platform even for non heavy workloads.ToyPad OS simply can't compete and gets crushed in every department.

4GB is way too low. And we can expect, that it is soldered to the motherboard. Lets hope there is at least one sodimm slot to extend...

$500 for just 64 GB storage, are you kidding, budget laptop is more more reliable, at that price we should get 1 TB HDD or at least 256 GB SSD

Not bad. But not for me. My next laptop must have latest i7 cpu with 4GB or more nvidia gpu with 16GB or more ddr4 high mhz ram and 1TB or more NVME m2 SSD. Screen must be full hd or 4k. Weight or battery life isn't important. I'm not a gamer and I don't like gaming laptops design. I just want speed and smoothness. If it is metal body it will be better. And also I need many usb ports and ethernet port. Please suggest me some laptops for 2000 dollars maximum. Thanks.
