Without hosting companies like Microsoft, Apple and others like Sony developers are nothing... The question is who will buy your stuff without those companies having platforms?
KondriX, 09 Sep 2020But not 30%, I think it's too much.. It's the market standard and been for many years. Nintendo/sony/Google/steam and others ask the same.
Who really decide which is the right share for what you get for return? Some people keep saying it's too much yet they can't give answer which is right number, because it's really hard thing to do. I'm sure if you would be in same situation you would be happy to ask 30%.
I don't actually care who is "right". Since i am using android and apple action drive the decision on android development indirectly (insane android price, usb c only, wireless earbuds trend, front camera notch), i want apple to be hitted so badly.
Am I the only one that believes that Apple is right? If companies don't want to pay 30% they could all pull out and demand that the percentage is lowered. They willingly place their product in the app store and then demand that it's lowered. That's backwards thinking. I don't like Apple or any of their current products, but come on now people.

Next week Apple will brag about how many ten... more"Next week Apple will brag about how many tens of billions they're making every month from you selling your work."
How would you think you sell your work without Apple? Isn't it better to get big sales and giving part of that return for Apple giving this huge opportunity and platform. Instead you trying to sell your on your website and no-one would never know you exist? or find your app/game.
Why would developers should walk away and loose this incredible opportunity which Apple/google offers to make them big and known.
An excellent example of Newton's third law 😂

I have had Galaxy S4 to S7 ... but never used their store. :-)
Samsung did very little to promote their store.
If Samsung can get their act together, they can greatly benefit from the ongoing saga with Epic/Apple. Instead of just selling hardware, they need to improve their whole ecosystem.
Developers should stand up, unite and walk away.
Next week Apple will brag about how many tens of billions they're making every month from you selling your work. Today they're threatening to sue you to death if you don't like that.
Walk away, developers.
Reynox, 09 Sep 2020Dayum, Apple just pulled an Uno reverse card!Exactly. Go apple, ban that epic games. All they do is break the rules and then expect to be treated like the best people there are. Let alone that fortnite isn't really a polished game. Full of bugs actually
Does apple have a department dedicated to bring everything to court case?? This one is okay though.
Epic can burn for all I care. What's next?
"Our game is only exclusively available to download from our website. Click here for how to download and install it on your device"
hahahahah. Fight !
i like both of epic and apple fight each other.
(Because my favorite thing is pubg and android ;)
Dayum, Apple just pulled an Uno reverse card!
Hahahaha!!! Get a huge hit there epic games! Let's see how you gonna fight back. Haha I couldn't wait to see how epic games got it's "bummy bum" slapped after breaking the rules
You can't break the rules, and win
Unless the jurors are corrupt, but this is not the case
Well you see why monopoly is not good for the market and the consumers. We need a third and maybe fourth Smartphone OS other than iOS and Android. I'm gonna get Fortnite today.
I think other developers need to step away from Apple... In support of Epic Games. Apples hedge is a problem.
Samsung wins here as they've allowed Epic games on their Galaxy Store when Google Play Store and Apple Store have removed the game.
