TheMan, 13 Jul 2012Agree Nokia fanboys made a lot of fuss about Pureview but it appears a Purefail is more approp... morePureview was deemed to be a success. But elop killed symbian. But still N9 and pureview will sell more than fully supported bada dèvices.

This is only US, where apple and blackberry are more popular than any other area. Worldwide, Android has more share (about 70 %), also Nokia and WinMo (+WinPhone) are more popular.

Windows Phone boy, 13 Jul 2012No we aren't Android users are the ones that are by running scared with quad cores that lag.... moreAll i can see is its the other way around.

Nokia fanboys just dont like seeing android and ios advancing into Duo/Quad core and make loads and loads of excuse, one common excuse "Android lags".yeah so?that doesnt affect anything, unless your so hardcore and use your phone to play heavy games etc.

If it lags alittle in example whatsapp or text, dont tell me you get mad.that is stupid.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2012Dont say anything about nokia, their fanboys are way too sensetive. No we aren't
Android users are the ones that are by running scared
with quad cores that lag.

Smoked by Windows and smooth with 1 core idling is what
they don't like. WP7.8 rounded is close enough to be called WP8 anyway which i will get on my lumia phones.
Yes i show support and own two.

iOS and Android dominate!

WP will not go anywhere with that terrible UI. Metro is horrible, and the sales speak volumes, people do not watch that garbage. If you think it's not Metro, then wait till Windows 8 comes out and Metro sinks Windows.

Metro UI is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to Microsoft.

As for Nokia, Nokia if irrelevant and finished.

You dont go shouting your mouth off about your own products whatever the trouble..Elop spouted about Symbian before he established another platform.

Symbian still has all the basics with good harware and Gravity to cover social media. If all i had was a Symbian smartfone i would still get my life done..

Everybody is SO dependent on their apps yet an outage here on O2 in UK saw every human being on that network collapse into fury. They could have easily bought a cheap fone on another network just to talk and text to get stuff done but they did not think of that.My goodness if your that hooked on your mobile as part of your life and have nervous breakdown without it you are sad and not human anymore.

Buisnesses still had email and phones and if life depends so much on smartfones then folk need to look at their lives.Every single person in that outage had a choice to use a landline or email or talk to the person in real life..I bet 97% of folks facebook friends they have never even met in real life..

So Symbian is not that bad and folk need to get real lifes and yes i do not use facebook its for show off kids and shallow and childish..

Let's see what WP can do. I would have liked Nokia to go with their Maemo/Meego OS. Elop took a risk and it's too soon say whether it'll pay off or not.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2012And the worst thing MS and Nokia did is to not allow their 3 months old Lumia devices upgrade ... moreactually MS has put itself on self-destruction mode in mobile sector and any company who were banking on them are also bound to be doomed if they don't have other parallel OS's in their lineup like Samsung & HTC and Nokia have killed all other major OS they had.

Windows 8 for Phones is doomed like all previous versions

The worst thing is that the next generation of iphone, will increase its market share, not at the expense of Android, but RIM, WP, symbian etc.. It only gets worse as the Android phone evolve to quad core with 4.1, very quickly. The fat lady has started singing.

Some figure to support the evaluation on Nokia's WP strategy:

Nokia:
Q2, 2011, symbian 2%, WP7 0% (when HTC 6%, Samsung 2%).
Q2, 2012, symbian 0.9%, WP7 0.3%(when HTC 3,4%, Samsung 0,5%).

RIM:
in q2, 2011, rim os 20%
in q2, 2012, rim os 9%

Nokia is in BIG trouble. If only they hadn't put all their effort on windows phone. Yeah wp is quite a fluid and neat OS, but it just doesn't have a chance against the well established android and iOS as it is now. If WP8 fails, they will sink even further. Those upcoming lumias better have monstrous hardware and elegant designs to match.

This only Nielsen's companies view.
We the Nokia Windows fans would like another analyst company to recheck the figures.

True Nokia fans are with Windows Phone and Elop,
we have been listed for sales as number 1 on Amazon.
Siri even confirms this as the best smartphone series.
Windows phones smoke android tests has been said to have been very successful by Microsoft. They have have also stated they have been impressed with units shipped.
