The US do not like other countries have leads over the US in key industries so there is fear the US would force TSMC to sell itself to an American company (a la TikTok) or build the latest gen fab in the US only

Now its making the chips for macs too...another milli... moreThat is not possible. They are almost 400 Billion dollar company that is highly profitable and with a cash pile. To buy them it will cost 600 Billion and there will be huge regulatory hurdles for such an acquisition. So that aint happening.
May Be Apple could get into manufacturing its own chips but that is also something unlikely as its very capital intensive to build state of the art fabs. Apple wont build them for others and Apple being just consumer focused wont be big enough to sustain that.

But it is due to TSMC and Samsung manufacturing pro... moreEh, you need a good chip design and optimized software(apple has both) in order for a smartphone chip to be useful. Sometimes, it's the manufacturer improving chip speed/battery consumption(aka 5nm process). So both play a role in the SoC
It is not that Apple design powerful chip. But it is due to TSMC and Samsung manufacturing process that allow chip to be powerful. Which subsequently benefits orderer like Apple.
