Anonymous, 09 Sep 2020$1,350 for the PC components (decent machine for 2020 gaming) + $110 for Windows 10 + 10 x $30... moreWhen was the last time you built a PC?
I built a PC with 13500CZK 2 months ago. (that means around 500EUR). New.
Amd Ryzen 3 3100.
Gigabyte B450M motherboard.
RAM 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz, CL16, Hyper X Fury.
M2 SSD 500GB, Kingston A2000.
Graphic Card Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1650 Super.
Power Supply Corsair CV550.
PC Case GamerMax Silent Hill.
+ 3590 CZK (130EUR) Monitor 27" FullHD.
I can play all the games in 1080p 60fps, with high or ultra high settings. I can easily game in 2k too with that configuration, but I don't find that a deal breaker. That is why I didn't bought a 2k monitor.
I have Microsoft Game Pass for PC subscription, 5EUR per month. So, I can game all the time if I really want to.
I do not like to use my smartphone so, I use the PC for everything else too, web browsing, movies (Netflix), social media, work, etc.
So for me, was an easy choice.
A console, bought only for the reason of gaming, is a good choice. But if you need or want to do something else, it is not that simple anymore.
P.S. Also, I do not have a TV.
Alikh, 09 Sep 2020Microsoft's hardware for nextgen consoles is steps ahead of Sony.Games sell consoles, specs outright don't, so even though the series x is better specd than the ps5 doesn't mean it will sell better.
Welp if this is November then the series x is earlier

And one da... more$1,350 for the PC components (decent machine for 2020 gaming) + $110 for Windows 10 + 10 x $30 for games (being generous with the cost on these) + $0 for online service = $1,760
You can still play games on this PC, just like on the console you bought, but it will slowly become outdated the same manner. You'll have to put more money into this after about 6 years. Maybe a new video card ($300) and new CPU ($300), maybe additional memory ($150).
You'll also want to upgrade after 6 years with the console, too. So that is another $300 or $400.
You'll always be buying new games for both PC and console, so not worth mentioning this for future state.
This is not including a nice monitor, but this assumes you have a nice monitor already, like the assumption that you have a nice TV. So not worth factoring in.
Will you get more life out of a PC? Yes. Does it cost more? Yes.
The solution is to either buy based on your budget, or get both to have the most versatile experience. However, if you are getting both a console and PC, do not pair it with an Xbox. Pair it with a Switch or a PlayStation because of the exclusivity in games.
Andreidinutu, 09 Sep 2020You have to buy games on pc as well, don't make it sound so dramatic. And it all comes do... moreYeah but on OC I only buy the games once. Unlike every generation like on console (For example GTA. Witcher is an exception because CDPR isn't scummy)

And it all comes down to preference, as in the long run, a pc costs as much as an xbox. And also you don't need all the money at the same time, but gradually, over time
Yeah, right. Good luck getting 1440/120hz LOL! I am still waiting for the 1080p/60 on the Xbox one I was promised.

Not to mention you don't need no subscription, and you don't need to pay for online

And one day there will be a new console you have to buy for new games, which you can still play on PC. This is best case scenario too, because I have seen many people who own more than just 10 games.
"Up to 120 fps" only means that it has support for 120 Hz output, not that the actual games are going to run at 120 fps on average.
This is a digital only (discless) Xbox series X with a 512GB SSD, less memory and a far slower GPU for 300 USD. CPU is the same.
Anonymous, 09 Sep 2020and i was thinking xbox series x would be great but if this does 120 at 2k, itll be wonderful ... moreYeah it would. It's great for the price. With a pc you barely get a good ryzen with integrated graphics for this price. It's a steal man. But if I ever end up owning a sony smartphone, I'd buy the sony counterpart, just because I like these japs more than anyone else
im sticking to my ps4 jailbroken and free games until 2019 october , no 4k tv no need new ps4 no need to spend alot for games lol

But if you own a lotta games for the ps4, go for thr ps5 even if you pay a more premium price, as not only you might get something better for the higher price, but you also don't have to pay the same amount of money for the games
Oh my... this is extremly good. Might be my first console
