Anonymous, 19 Dec 2020It's 2020 and Huawei decides that Thunderbolt 3 is unnecessary? What are they thinking?? unless its using intel, thunderbolt is not available... at least while this model was designed, as thunderbolt is produced by intel. how many machines have you seen that run a AMD processor provide thunderbolt? usb3.1 / usb 4 does the same thing as a thunderbolt labeled port, as long as it has display port capabilities.

Honor UK have now dropped the price by 100 GBP to 750 GBP (inc tax). Admittedly on two week delivery time, suggesting that they're short of stock.
At that price its an absolute steal, I don't regret paying the extra hundred quid !
Wanting a 15 inch sized, thin, easily transportable laptop, full metal build, bright IPS screen, i7 performance, 16GB RAM, 500GB really fast SSD, to use primarily as my home workstation, what at under 1000 GBP could come anywhere close ?
Looking at the sad student machines that line the shelves of PC World and John Lewis, shameful Dell and Lenovo tat, and the huge leap up to premium compacts and Dell XPS / Apple range, Honor is filling a much needed gap ...
Just like buying my Honor phone at half the price of its nearest UK mainstream competitor.
Sadly brick and mortar stores don't display Huawei and Honor products to their customers as profit margins are to be made elsewhere.

"The panel has 1920 x 1080px resolution at 16:9 aspect ratio. We would have preferred a more squarish aspect ratio like 3:2 when it comes to productivity, although even as is the 16-inch diagonal gives you a big canvas to work with."
...finally the truth is revealed and accepted. a 3:2 screen is more productive, I wish the mobile phone manufacturers realized it!!! they are expanding the screen in only one direction, 1080:2160/2220/2280/2340/2400/2480/2520 just getting taller and taller and comparatively narrower. 1080:2160 is fine, now press "shift" and strech the diagonal as you need, 6" to 6.6". A 6.6" 9:18 screen is bigger than a 6.6" 9:20 screen.

Nodal to Mesh, 16 Sep 2020I don't know but dude why are you getting triggered on my normal reply? Chill out..I am not triggered. And why did you tell me that if you can't give me a substitiary (whatever you spell it)? I mean like sure, your comment was chill, but you still put this "lmfao" like I'm very dumb or something
I always try to speak very nicely to people here, but if you awnser like that what am I supposed to do? Be even chiller? No man I gradually increase
And I want some reasons why the 4 core userbenchmark score isn't good. I ussualy used my pc to calculate chess positions, so raw power was more important than what games could do. Now things have changed but still, I consider userbenchmark the best

Andreidinutu, 11 Sep 2020I know what amd is doing, winning on all fronts, more power, more cores, less pricy etc But c... moreYou're still wrong...

At Zen2 (current gen), yes I would still go for AMD even if I disregard money as factor. Intel simply don't have any offering to compete. And the era of IPC vs multi-thread - IPC is slowing dying. Except for developer such as Adobe who simply doesn't bother with thread optimization, there's less application out there that Intel is faster at the moment. And even games (which is still lean slight towards to Intel presently) is more increase shifting to prefer core count. So, I'm still amazed as to your claim of Intel's 'flagship'. Because at EPYC, Intel is loosing and that is the consumer 'flagship'. As for servers, that entirely a different story, which AMD is extremely close. Intel's advantage is in fact, the oppose site of AMD at pre Zen1, only shows at very specific scenario.

And you don't even factor - Intel still look more premium because they still have more vendor support. Admittedly it actually Chinese vendor like Huawei, Lenovo has more AMD lineup than the likes of HP and Dell. But, despite Intel loose the anti-trust case, the situation did not change much.

The best part. You click the power button, it'll take a snap of your finger, then utilise the same on the "Welcome" screen and you don't have to verify your finger print again

I mean ... moreIntel got sloppy because of their monopoly and thereby ended up stagnating innovation in the PC segment. I'll be upgrading to an AMD PC soon as my Intel 4 core 8 thread rig from 5 years back is nearing its end.

Brands like Apple, Intel are simply anti consumer.
Ryzen is giving the people what they want.
Intel had several time to catchup, they still haven't woken up and consequently they are desperately rolling out half baked upgrades over existing chips.
