You have to factor in the additional costs:
- R&D - could be big
- marketing
- distribution - nobody will sell your phone without getting a chunk. Can vary from 10% to 50% of the retail price.
- warranty returns
- product support - both as tech support and future updates
With Apple charging 5x the BOM for a lot of its stuff, 2x is not unreasonable if you expect any kind of after-sales support (such as updates) and any kind of R&D (not just cloning the AOSP).

He is using some 50$ unheard cheap brand with a fake Apple or Samsung logo on it.
He has zero idea about the issue you discussed which is plaguing other flagship phones.

Mediatek Chip is punching way above its weight... moreDimensity phones that have buggy OS and weak ISP. Straight into my dustbin. Samsung logo all the way? Gonna ditch it. Samsung used to be a prestige brand and Apple wasn't (with embarassing iPhone 6, 7, 8, X). Now I think it's the other way around.

They make a price, and people is paying for it.
So, that means price is right....there is nothing to explain or fix.
I know I won't be supporting them, or other greedy companies like Apple, Oneplaus, Sony....I will never buy a phone for that kind of money.

Bro wtf ,samsung or apple apply the same model ,make the phone for 500+- euros/dollars after sell it for 1,5-2x the production cost...ofc the gap will aleys be there since apple and samsung launch phone 6 months aways 1 from onother is galaxy-note-iphone-galaxy-note-iphone repet....neither of them are true...tho take into account the beside the cost of manufacuring you also pat for exclusivity and top notch tech

Even Helio G90T in Redmi Note 8 Pro gets very warm quickly and drops in performance in mobile gaming. It does deliver only a short burst of high performance.
Anything that China tells you, you trust em.
Still, never touching Mediatek chips that go straight into mu dustbin. You're trolling.
